My half-hearted mission on this trip were 1950s Pyrex mixing bowls. Last week I stopped by a store in Marietta that was selling a set of three for $155. Too rich for my blood, though perhaps not out of line. (I looked at the "Replacement" china/tableware website and saw individual bowls going for $119! That's crazy!) Anyway, here I found two Pyrex bowls in great shape -- different vendors -- each going for $20. I bought 'em. If you're looking for serious antiques you're not likely to find them at the Madison Flea Market. I noticed a number of booths selling Fiesta Ware. I can't comment about authenticity -- not something I collect -- but if you're in the market, might be worth a look.”
