Atlanta Ice House is Georgia’s newest ice skating rink and home to the USPHL Atlanta Madhatters, Atlanta Madhatters Youth Hockey Club, and the KSU Hockey Club. The facility is a nice, newer rink with great ice. It is not too cold and features some stand seats on one side. The rink hosts public skate and sticktime sessions, which are awesome, though it is noted that during stick times, kids sometimes sneak on and can make it too crowded. The venue mostly focuses on hockey but also offers open skates. A previous concession stand is now closed, and the rink could use a designated place for people to place shoes. The Madhatters Skating Academy provides premier figure skating programs like Learn To Skate USA and Aspire. The hockey program receives high praise for its dedication, with house teams offering two practices per week. The hockey director, described as a former NHL player and hall of fame member, is noted for exceptional personal care and attention for players, helping to foster a life-changing experience for youth athletes. The facility is also outstanding for private events like birthdays, offering a spacious private area, access to a private skating arena, and excellent coaching. Staff are highlighted as amazing and helpful, assisting guests with skate rentals and ensuring events run smoothly.
