I've spent dozens of hours and thousands of dollars here over the past 5 years. I will be moving my spend up the street to Lowe's for the simple reason - and I can't believe I'm actually having to write this - that the management lets people walk, cart, and carry their dogs all over the store.
I love dogs. I've got no issue with service dogs, emotional support dogs, or even just well behaved dogs. But lately I can't go in this place without hearing untrained dogs barking, tripping over leashes, or having to pull my kids away from overly excited pooches.
It's not the dogs' fault. It's not even really the customers' fault. It's management's inability to speak up and tell customers that they can't just waltz in with any garden variety dog(s) and let it / them bark, jump, and pee on the floor in the garden section.
I've spoken to employees about this and I've even confronted a guy whose two (yeah two) dogs in his cart snapped at my toddler last week, but all I get is "yeah customers really aren't supposed to bring them in and if they misbehave we're supposed to ask them to leave". Ok, so do it. Until then, I'll be at Lowe's every Saturday.
