Will not do cash withdrawal inside bank. You are forced to use ATM with charges. Wish I knew before I rushed to bank 10 min before closing.

My husband has banked with this TERRIBLE bank for over two years (two years too long in my opinion) and it has caused him nothing but trouble. Recently my husband went into the negative on his account due to fraudulent charges. When calling the bank to dispute these charges and get a stop payment on his account, Mrs.Cindy Wood informed him that it was policy that she also charge him a $35 stop payment fee! After calling another branch he was informed that this was in fact, NOT policy and was able to get it taken care of. This is just the most recent experience that he has encountered. Switching banks is something he has wanted to do for quite some time, but due to his schedule and quite frankly the terrible operating hours of this establishment, he had not been able to do so until lately. He is excited to finally be cutting all ties with this bank. I would like to be able to give them a zero, but that's not possible..so I give them a one.

I was shocked when I received a recent document from People’s Bank of East Tennessee In regards to our interest rate which is an ARM. This led me to check our loan documents that we received from them when we closed on our house a little over four years ago. Did I get gasp when I read the loan term at 30 years. Jim asked us if we wanted a 30 year term. I immediately rejected the offer since we paid for our house mostly in cash and were very comfortable with paying the small monthly mortgage payments. We wanted to pay our house off as quickly as possible with less interest. A 30 year term has a significant more about of interest. The loan documents showed that we were placed into a 30 year loan. What a mistake on mine and my husband’s part for not reading the documents at our closing before signing. We trusted that Jim would complete the papers properly as we verbalized on many different occasions. I have emails to Jim that show we only ever spoke about a 15 year. I have family and friends that confirm that I’ve spoke about a 15 year loan with our lender. I am in disbelief that this has happened to us, we’ve paid thousands more than we should have paid and Jim said that there is nothing that they will do about this terrible mistake. We are speaking with a lawyer right now. We are hoping that we will have a case to move forward with. Please please please read all our closing documents when closing on your house. It sounds like common sense to do so. We spoke with Jim on several accounts about our 15 year term, as well as rejecting a 30 year term loan that he offered. We trusted that everything would be done appropriately. What a mistake!!!
