Went to return an item I bought at Ace hardware in Florida and they tell me they're not an Ace hardware franchise and cannot accept Ace hardware purchases even with the receipt from a different store. Oddly there is an Ace hardware registered trademark sign on the building. When I ask if they stock the part that I was returning she said it doesn't matter they cannot accept the return. I don't understand how franchises work but for $14 they just lost a customer and I will not be back...

I purchased an EGO trimmer about 2 months ago. It stopped working. I tried to return it to the store and was promptly told they would not accept the return it was after 30 days. If I had purchased this at Home Depot or Lowe’s it would have been taken back no questions asked and I would have a new one. This is what happens when you try to support local businesses. I called Ace corporate. Same message. You pay 15% or so more to receive service like this. I won’t but a box of nails at this store and when my group is meeting I’ll share my experience.
