We took our dog in for boarding. He's has anxiety and doesn't do well in new environments. This was our first time boarding at The Paw Pad. Seeing him happy verses under distress at pick up was very new. We've boarded him before and every time we picked him up he would look frazzled. We were under the impression that maybe it was due to separation anxiety but now I believe it was the facility. So thank you Paw Pad for being his new home away from home.

Our busy paw-daughter figured out how to get lots of belly rubs and attention from staff. We appreciate the staff accommodating her requests.

The first time I took my dog here I thought it was great. Nice staff. Second time I took both of my pugs and one came back sick and the other one came back with Kennel Cough. The food I gave them to feed my puppy's was the exact nearly the same amount. I wondered had I just given to much. I was going back to give them another chance because the availability is always so good, now I see why. I hate this because we need good affordable kennels in our area.

I found a vet and doggy daycare right next to each other and the vet was able to see me the same day I called. The best part? Both are small businesses in McDonough! My testimonials for both are below.
I had such an incredible time at The Paw Pad in McDonough, and I just have to share my experience. From the moment I pulled up, the outside of the building instantly brought a smile to my face. It’s beautiful, fun, engaging, and filled with a sense of joy that you can’t miss.
Inside, the atmosphere was just as welcoming. The facility is impeccably clean and so inviting, it’s clear they take pride in every detail. The receptionist made the process of setting up my dog’s care so easy and stress-free.
But the true highlight of my visit was meeting the owner, Mrs. Carol Kelly! She’s an absolute gem—sweet, kind, and such a pleasure to talk to. I ended up spending an hour chatting with her about my dog, McDonough’s history, and so much more. Her passion and love for what she does truly shines through, and it was so refreshing to connect with someone so genuine.
I also want to give a huge shoutout to the McDonough Animal Hospital team, who were equally amazing. From the receptionist to the doctor, everyone was kind, professional, and attentive. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a vet clinic.
I left The Paw Pad and the hospital feeling grateful and inspired. I wholeheartedly recommend The Paw Pad and McDonough Animal Hospital to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pets. It was truly a phenomenal day, and I’ll definitely be back!

My doggy Tucker loves the Paw Pad. When he sees the building from the road, he’s jumping to go inside. He love the staff and they love him. When we take family trips.we feel comfortable that Tucker is somewhere safe. Tucker has been going to them for 2 years. He eats well when he is boarded, he is even a little fatter. They had even bath Tucker if he played hard and got dirty. I have recommended the Paw pad to friends and family and they love bring their pets here.

After picking up my dogs they failed to go over the complete final charge and I was told my total was one thing and it was something else then to make things worst my dogs were dropped off with food, leashes, extra collars, harnesses and blankets and upon pick up I was told that they could not find anything but the food in the vault container I left and was told when they find the rest they will call because the lady bringing me my dogs could not find it after looking for two seconds then after I pressed her before leaving on why my dogs belongings are missing and why she can’t point me to who moved it she kept repeating she will call when they find it and that she did not know who took the dogs and the belongings from me even though I’m pretty sure they have a schedule to see who worked at what time but after going thru all of this she magically went back inside and got their belonging the customer service could have been done better and for this to be a first time experience I do not see myself returning

WISH they were open on Sunday (even for a 2-3 hour period) so we wouldn't have to pay for an extra night of boarding due to them not being open at all Sunday.....

I would not recommend taking your pet to this place. I am including photos & videos as well as timestamps for proof as to why I personally do not trust this company. For starters, as most other reviews say, the customer service is not welcoming. I talked to the workers a couple of times before taking my dog there for a 3-day overnight boarding. The workers are knowledgeable but not necessarily nice. I was waiting to see how they were in person to be a final deciding factor on if I should leave my dog with them. When I arrived, just like they are on the phone, they are not welcoming to humans but was very nice to my dog which is why I decided to let him go ahead & stay because they were caring for him & not me. The smell of the place also reeks. I understand it houses animals but I’ve never been to a groomer nor vet clinic that smelt this way.
My first concern is that I picked up my dog after a 3-night stay & my dog could not stay awake for more than 2 minutes. He loves car rides (will insert a picture of him in the car before I dropped him off on Wednesday & will insert a picture of him when I picked him up on Saturday). Whenever we leave him, he greets us with so many barks & so much happiness but that was not the case. He was excited but not nearly as happy as he should have been after leaving us for 3 days. When I noticed he couldn’t stay awake, I called the pawpad to see if they give the dogs any relaxers to calm them down if they’re anxious & she told me no. I told her his behavior was completely abnormal so I was probably going to take him to the vet to get checked out. Shortly after hanging up, I got a call back saying that they asked the other caregivers & everyone said he was not giving anything but there was one day that he would not come out the room at all. I called in to check on my dog while I was away & was told that he was doing great, went on plenty of potty breaks & had some time outside to run around. I’m not sure why they would not call & let me know that my dog had not come out of the room one of these days. I would have ended my trip & came to get him had I known he was unhappy. I feel as if me bringing up taking him to the vet may have alarmed the worker & she only called back to give some sort of excuse as to why he was acting weird when I should have been told this while she had my dog in her possession.
Shortly after arriving home, I then noticed my dog was limping. It was not a consistent limp, but on & off. He was not in any pain but the vet did say that the boarders may have kept in a cage the whole time & he’s just getting back used to walking. I have no proof this is true because I did not see the room he was sleeping in but it is quite alarming that after scrolling & reading other reviews, someone also mentioned their dog limping after picking them up. I paid for a private room. I would hope my dog was not left in a cage. My dog is also not neutered so I was told ahead of time that he would not be having playtime with the other dogs. His paw could not have gotten hurt from playing because he should have not been around any dogs in the first place. So I’m confused as to why my dog is limping??? (I’m posting a video of him limping. I have him on a leash connected to the couch so that I could get a clear recording of him limping without him having to walk too much)
Lastly, when I picked him up, I was told that he had not eaten yet that day. This was originally not alarming because he tends to not eat in the morning & I picked him up around 11:40am. However, when I got him home & fed him, he ate TWO bowls of food & drank plenty water. It honestly seem as if he had not been eating at all. I’ve had my dog for 4 years & have NEVER seen him eat or drink so much in one sitting.
For the sake of yourself & your pet, I’d recommend choosing another option for boarding. I feel as if my dog was left in cage, drugged up & starved for 3 days. It is not worth losing your dog or taking
