What I like: Its quiet without the usual traffic noise of muscle cars, its very close to the golf course and the coffee is good. Two stars. What I do not like: Its pretty far away to get something to eat. The bed is old and it feels like sleeping in a hammock. I wake up with lower back pain. There is a ventilation in the ceiling with constant cool air comming out which you cannot switch off. The floor is pretty dirty and nobody came for cleaning the last two days. And now a guy moved in right next to me and has a conversation on the phone and I can easily understand what he is saying. I suppose, the "walls" are made out of some sort of fabric or cardboard material. Three nights left. I am positive that the guy finally will hang up the phone.

Asked for Coffee upon arrival after 930am dont serve it the burners dont work?? Next day the breakfast food was put out at 715am and not one burner was on. Breakfast was cold but cost 14 dollars per person for a buffet that any 2 star hotel could beat. The Lodge is beautiful clean with wonderful views but later found out that it isnt run by the state but a private business is in charge. SAD!

My wife and I were there for 3 nights in the lodge. This park is most likely the nicest park we’ve visited in Georgia. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. They have a golf course, swimming pool, splash pad, tennis courts and volleyball area. They have a nice beach, nature paths two restaurants and a campground. They can accommodate any size party and they have cabins that are completely remodeled. Our first night there was a problem with the hot water in our area of the lodge but it was fixed early the following day. The staff were very polite and helpful. We intend to stay there again this summer if we can get one of those new cabins overlooking the lake.

Rooms: The rooms were very clean and comfy!Nearby activities: There are none and that is the best part about it! We stay here and play golf and don't have to leave!Noteworthy details: We love that we can bring our dog and play golf, eat and have a drink all on one property!

A day trip. We didn't stay in the lodge.Food & drinks: Great menu suitable for folks with food Allergies. Large portions. My food was cold but my partners food was hot. A roach ran out from under my plate. Love the refurbished bar and the staff were friendly but the food needs a bit of work for the price you are charging. This could be a premium dining destination if you can get it together.

My great Aunt had her 70th birthday party at the Lodge, it was awesome! The staff was amazing, the bar and food were outstanding! 10 out of 10, you can't go wrong having any type of event at his place.

I had to stop here to get a day pass to go through the park cute little park until you get to one area of it there was no close gate there was no railing going across the road to tell you you could not go in that area and the area was to the beach and boat dock well I stopped to read the historic sign inside that area where the boat dock and Beach was and I had a gentleman walk up to me and tell me the areas closed and I said there's nothing to say that he says there's signs I said the signs are over in the grass they're not blocking the road The gate was wide open and you can see by the pictures that I have included that indeed the area closed signs were over off the road in the grassy area and that the main gate down that road was wide open The employees there are just plain rude I have never ran into a state park that 95% of them are rude and I didn't understand that there was no need for it All I was doing was driving through taking a look and stop dorita historic sign about wide beach was named after who it was and it was quite interesting to learn the historic part of it it dealt with the first the gentleman that created the first bottling plants for Coca-Cola in that area so that's kind of historic and my opinion It should require a moment of reading and if you don't want somebody down there put today on gate up or put the road closed sign out there that blocks the road!!!

We weathered a hurricane here in our RV. Super impressed by the park, employees, food, and camping. We will be back often.

Came for a reunion. The rooms appeared cleaned however the laundry smelled musty. There were a few small roaches found walking across the headboard. The room phones didn’t work at all. The breakfast was 15.00 for yogurt, cheerios sausage bacon and clumpy grits. They need to come down on that price seeing as how it’s not made to order nor was is good.
