Stripling's General Store is a family-owned-and-operated business and an authentic, charming general store. It boasts a full-service butcher shop with great cut meat, world famous sausage and jerky, and unique Southern specialties. Visitors find it a cool find with a little bit of everything you can possibly need and tons of foods to choose from. The facilities are clean, very clean. Their bacon is great and highly recommended, and they offer some of the best Cajun boiled peanuts. However, experiences with the hot food can be inconsistent. While some visits are pleasant, the hot food was sub par for one reviewer, who called the barbecue sandwich the worst ever, citing it as really dry and plain. There was also an unfortunate incident where sausage biscuits seemed undercooked and caused illness. The initial response to this complaint was disappointing and upsetting, though the matter was later addressed politely with an offer of a refund or free food.
