About Cloudland Canyon State Park

Cloudland Canyon State Park is a beautiful and quiet park with amazing views. The main overlook is currently closed for renovations, but good views are available further down. The park features breathtaking waterfalls and spectacular sheer rock faces surrounding cool, clear water. The hike down to the waterfall involves about 600 stairs on a narrow, rocky trail and is quite a trek, so being in good physical health is recommended. The stairs are the most difficult portion, but the hike is doable for anyone who takes their time. Canyon Falls is not as strenuous and is worth the walk. The remainder of the trail is hilly but with not much elevation gain. It can be muddy in parts, so hiking boots or water shoes are recommended. The park offers camping that is beautiful and quiet, with showers available at the campsite. Parking is easy and costs $5 daily, though park gates close at 10 PM and reopen at 7 AM.
