“I remember going to Penny Annie’s as a teenager to get school clothes because my mom couldn’t afford name-brand clothes for all of us. Even back then, the owner was always so kind to us—and today reminded me that some things never change. ♥ I was shopping today, and she didn’t know that the man who had come in with me was my brother. He’s a little rough around the edges, but we’re working on that. He asked her if she had any boots that might fit him because he’s starting a new job cutting grass. She told him, “Give me one second, and I’ll look out back.” A few minutes later, she came back with a really nice pair of boots and told him he could have them. She stood there talking with him about his new job and then even gave him a nice pair of boot socks to go with them. After he walked outside, I went up to the counter and told her, “Thank you for being so kind to him. That man you just gave those boots to is my brother.” I told her that I remembered coming into her store as a kid when my family didn’t have a lot, and she was always so kind to us then, too. All these years later, she’s still showing people that same kindness. You never know what someone is going through or how much a simple act of kindness can mean to them. Penny Annie’s will forever be my favorite small-town business. ♥ Supporting small businesses means supporting people like this—and our community is blessed to have her.”

“Overall, this place is a nice antique store. Items are generally in good to great condition, but tend to be pricy. It is individual sellers renting booth space, so quality and price can vary by booth. We did get a few nice things for decent prices. A few of the sellers also resell new items with the tags still on (such as Burt's Bees clothing and beauty products or other skincare/beauty products) at higher prices than you could get off of Amazon or Walmart. One thing of note is that there is an area of notecards advertised as by a local artist that has at least two prints that are clearly AI generated. The other prints look more human made, but once one item is clearly AI it calls into question the legitimacy of all other items someone claims to make. This is not controllable or the fault of the overarching business, but it is something that gives me pause to return. It will most definitely keep me from buying anything from that artist. Overall, a good antique store.”
