Been going for awhile but I just can't anymore. I don't mind paying for the stuff but why have a price tag on the stuff if your just gonna up the price at check out. Like if it says 3 bucks why are you charging me 4 if the box says 50cent toys why am I charged 2bucks for it. And When i ask about it I'm wrong but like I said why have a price tag if your not gonna go by what yall put on it. Not gonna go back that's for sure.

The absolute worst RUDEST staff , Christy is BEYOND rude. They prices DO NOT match what they tell you so watch your receipt and every item scaned. You're better off going to Walmart

Appalled. For the last 2 years and 8 months, I have donated everything my daughter has outgrown to this place. Clothes, high chair, double stroller, etc. I went in the other day to shop for some play/summer shorts for my oldest. They were $3 a pair! For thin, worn CLOTH! Not denim! Do what?! So I went to Walmart and got 8 pair for $2.49 a piece. Brand new, no wear & tear. I donated my daughter's things to The Cottage thinking I would be helping people that need it but it seems someone, somewhere is greedy! I'll never step foot here again. Do better! People need it now more than ever!

This is the best thrift store ever. Lots of really nice things, and it's also super clean and doesn't have that smell that thrifts get sometimes. The ladies that work here are amazing, always kind and helpful. It's definitely worth a drive from Chattanooga, I promise you won't be sorry.

I came here full of hope and joy excited to check out this new-to-me place that a friend told me about. I left feeling bad about myself and about humanity in general. They don't have a bathroom, they don't have a fitting room. I was so excited to check this place out I went across the street to use the restroom, and came back. As I was entering, a woman was leaving complaining that an employee was rude to her and told her to not push the clothing on the racks, because the racks are not designed to support shoving. and you know how it is when racks are jam-packed and you're trying to look at clothing.. this 60-ish woman did not appear to have any superhuman strength, I had no reason to believe that she was treating the racks in any unusual manner. The woman she brought her concern to treated the customer like she was in the wrong and the customer said this is our first time here, but we will not be back. This exchange already made me uncomfortable, and I felt like I should leave but again, I did want to check out this place. The employees continue to complain loudly about the customer after she had left. Again, uncomfortable!! The prices were RIDICULOUS on a lot of items, but there were some good prices on new clothing. There were passive aggressive notes posted all over the store., And I understand that many customers are difficult to deal with, like the ones that use drugs in the restroom or defecate in the fitting room, which they informed me has been an issue, and the reason why I could not use it to try on clothing. So I tried to try some items on over my clothing, and when I went to check out I felt like I was overcharged. I asked what the children's pants were, because I did not buy any children's pants. They said that's just how they ring up items. Okay.. but then I asked them to please go through with me and show me each item and how it added up. As they were passing each item back and forth, I added it to $26.50 before tax. But they did some three card Monte action between them and said yes it's $30.50.. I left feeling confused, but I did not want to ask them to add it up again in front of me so I added it up when I got home and I was overcharged. I know, I know.. it's $4.. big deal. It's not about the money it's about the way they treat people, the trickery involved, and how I left feeling like I'd been duped, and definitely did not have a good experience that would make me want to come back.

I've refrained from reviewing about The Cottage, but when I saw a rude sign that targeted customers upset about high pricing on their door yesterday, I decided to review.I've shopped here for a minute, but have always noticed the insane price tags (especially on art/pictures). Legit they had an old motel-style wall art over $50! Not to mention, they wrote the price in permanent marker on the FRONT of the painting. LolI will still shop here on occasion, but will do so wisely, and not purchase many items that are over $20.If the owners see this, please review your prices. You're an establishment rooted in faith, yet it appears the charity and compassion aspects of Christian morality seem to have been overriden for greed and profit. Please remove this rude sign and re-evalute your attitude towards those that keep you in business. ?
