We've been kickin' the tire on Sunnyside Pizzeria for a while now. We finally checked it out and everything was excellent. We sat at the bar and ordered solid bottle of wine and tried the meatball appetizer. Hand on heart, these are the best meatballs in the city. The sauce tastes like a traditional Sunday sauce. It was like eating with our family in Brooklyn and Staten Island. 3 meatballs, amazing texture and the sauce is exquisite. You'll find yourself scraping the bowl with your finger. It's that good. For our mains we ordered the Hot Honey Char pizza and the Chicken Piccata.Sunnyside is known for the Hot Honey Char and this is well warranted. The quality of the pepperoni stands out, and it cups in the oven so it gets crispy around the edges. This pizza is a playful version of a traditional pepperoni pizza, but then has ricotta cheese and a drizzle of hot honey. The ricotta is great because it mellows out the pepperoni, and the hot honey offers a bit of sweet heat. We loved this pizza.I'm not normally a fan of Piccata, but my lady loves it. We were both blown away by this dish. Piccata doesn't typically have cream in it. Most places it's butter, lemon and capers. Sunnyside amps this up considerably by adding a dash of cream, making a richer dish, but it's not overly rich. It's just a perfect sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked and very thin, almost like a cutlet. They certainly don't skimp on the amount of chicken either. The pasta was fresh pasta, not boxed pasta. It was fantastic. We have a lot of Neapolitan pizza options in Atlanta now. Sunnyside stands out amongst them as a place that certainly stays inside the tradition of this style of pizza (and pastas), but they also have some playful options on the menu (like the Hot Honey Char) which modernize the tradition. The space is small, super charming and tucked away in the corner of the Springs Landing shopping center. We are super stoked to go back and try more of the menu. Hats off to the owners of this small business. Y'all are doing things right.

Service was attentive & after dinner splitting the check was easy! Food was served timely, hot, flavorful, & our portions were plenty. We ordered an appetizer, a pizza, pasta entree, & dessert. All were excellent. We all agreed that we would go back to Sunnyside!

Pizza was good.. could’ve been better if they didn’t skimp out on the cheese. Some pieces barely had a smidge of cheese on them. Everything about this place wreaked of owners being super cheap. it’s one of those places you can just tell the owner is cutting corners anyway they can. No tongs for the salad. No spatula for the pizza. When asked the runner for a spatula, he looked at me like I grew a tail and said “we only have forks”. Huh? No parm, olive oil or red pepper flakes on the table. When we asked for some parm they just brought out a small 1 oz portion cup, which the 3 of us had to share. No splenda, just sweet and low. Just feels like the owners are itrying to save money in weird places that hurts their brand. Very short sighted thinking. Bathroom was kindof gross too

The food and service were amazing. Don’t miss on the meatballs and gelato. The whiskey gelato has 5% alcohol and was so delicious. The restaurant has a very great music vibe which contributes to the overall experience. Ryan made the experience even better. Super charming❣️The pistachio, margherita, and diavola pizza’s were perfect for table side sharing. The sausage and peppers sandwich was flavorful and the bread was super fresh.

This place has found its groove! David and Sunny have done an amazing job to bring the tastes of Italy to Sandy Springs. The chef made bolognese with fresh pasta paired with a Naples Margherita pizza with fresh cheese, panceta and mushroom. Muy Delicioso! You will not be disappointed! And the wait staff is friendly and amazing! Might want to make reservations on Friday and Saturday nights. If not, it is worth the wait. Enjoy!

Really wanted to love it but missed the mark on quite a few things. Dined at 5:30 Friday night. Only 1 other table was taken (we had a reservation) I got the arugula salad. The lemon to olive oil ratio is off (I make mine the same way) and the balsamic had no flavor. I was hoping for a reduction on the sweet side to counter the lemon juice but it had a similar acidity level so did nothing for the salad. Pear was unripe and hard so again lead no sweetness to the salad. My partner enjoyed their Caesar. Pizzas needed 30 seconds more in the oven as the bottoms were not cooked (white and soggy for both) Top was cooked nicely and crust was great. Ordered Americano coffee which came out after dessert was finished (tiramisu...I would give it a 4...good but not great) The coffee came out splashed everywhere as they were filled to the very top. No room to put in milk (they do not have half and half) and given 2 packets of sweet and low (gross!) Had to go ourselves to ask for sugar (had asked the waiter but he never came back with it) Given a small paper cup with some sugar in it. Would have liked coffee with dessert and not well after..it was not drinkable either way. When we left there was 1 party at the counter and 2 other tables seated (not busy). It's also very bright in there...not he best atmosphere though it was clean. Wish we could have loved it but too many misses to likely return.

Sunnyside Pizzeria is the best pizza, atmosphere, and service I've ever had! Come here if you want to have the absolute best dinner or lunch experience in the Atlanta area!

Amazing food and what truly stood out, however, was the exceptional customer service. From the moment I entered the restaurant or interacted with the team, I was met with warmth and professionalism. The entire experience not just a transaction but a meaningful interaction.

This is a casual place with good food and good service at reasonable prices. My friend and I ordered Pasta dishes which were very good. We will try pizza on our next visit. The people at the tables next to us seemed to enjoy their pizzas, especially the hot honey version and the pistachio version. I also had a bellini which was very good and such a bargain. I would go back.

Small restaurant but HUGE flavor!! The mushroom/pesto sammy for lunch was incredible! The hot honey pizza is exceptional (even without the pepperoni and add basil - chefs kiss!)Vegetarian options: You can basically make anything vegetarian!Parking: The parking lot is terrible. Be prepared.
