They have been purchased by auto nation first of all. Auto nation does not negotiate on the price and they tacked on 3k of crap to the sale. When cars are currently selling for 10% below msrp to tack on all this crap is crazy. There sales guys are nice and friendly, no pressure. I did have a bad high pressured experience on this lot 3 years ago, and the cars were way over priced then as well. Savannah does tend to be higher than anywhere else 40 miles away, but anyone in their right mind would drive out of town to save 7k

Horribly wrong problem diagnosis, followed by complete inflexibility. My 2008 Beetle wouldn't start. Turning the key did not cause the engine to turn over. Battery was new. Car was towed to this dealer. They diagnosed bad ECM--The cars "computer". I knew this was impossible because the ECM has nothing to do with the starter circuit. They said that VW no longer produces new ECMs for this model and year, so they cannot fix the car. Come get it. That took a week.I went to get the car. I found it in a grass parking area, where the tow truck left it. It had never been moved into the shop. How did they diagnose a bad ECM in the grass field?I managed to start the vehicle by whacking on the steering column, indicating a bad ignition switch. When I told them, they refused to put a new ignition switch in the vehicle.I towed the car to a nearby independent repair shop, they fixed the car in a day.

I called in for a same-day appointment, hoping there would be a spot available, but recognizing there might not be. On the phone, I stated that I was in a rush (driving across the country) but if there was room while I was driving by Savannah I would appreciate an oil change. I was told there were appointments available when I was to arrive in Savannah (yay!). On the phone I was told an appointment was scheduled for 10:30 am. I then drove over 30 minutes out of my way for my appointment. Upon arriving at VW, I was told I would have to wait for an opening and no appointment was scheduled as the service center was fully booked for the day. I was given an estimated wait time of 2.5 hours. Very disappointed. If I had been told on the phone that there was NOT an opening at 10:30, I would have not made the drive. I ended up getting back in my car to continue my cross country trip.

Today, September 26, 2022, is my first experience with AutoNation Volkswagen. I am relocating to Savannah, GA and looking for a Volkswagen dealership to perform general scheduled maintenance on my Atlas. I found AutoNation Volkswagen Savannah, GA on a Google search. I called several times last Friday and Monday morning to schedule general maintenance and no one answered the telephone. After no one answered the telephone on Monday, I went to the AutoNation Volkswagen located at 50 Eisenhower Dr in Savannah, GA to see if they could service my Atlas. I pulled up the the service area and no one came to greet me at my vehicle (as I am used to) so I took my stroller and 7 month old baby out of the car to go into the service office. I still was not greeted as I entered. A service rep did open the door for me to get my stroller in the building. I waited for several minutes while a service rep and customer chatted about his Jetta. Because the conversation was taking so long, I used the restroom and came back and the customer and rep were still chatting. Now another customer was waiting in line. The service rep went out of his way to help the next man and left the office to go find the tow truck that was dropping of the customer’s vehicle. I waited longer. Now almost 20 minutes later the rep comes back to the office and starts to help another customer until he sees that I am visibly frustrated. He then asks what can I do for you, with a look of disgust and disdain. I explained that I only need scheduled maintenance and oil change. The rep asks if I have an appointment and I explain that I tried to schedule an appointment and no one answered the phone for two days. He says that he cannot service my car today and the next available appointment is Monday next week. I said thank you I will not be back. This is my first direct experience with gender, race and ethnic discrimination in Savannah, GA. The service rep intentionally treated me differently than all the other customers and he blatantly did not want me as a customer. Given the totality of the relevant facts, the service rep engaged in intentional discrimination. Now I must seek another Volkswagen dealership to service my Atlas because the service rep caused me to lose trust in their service.I am contacting AutoNation’s corporate office including the legal department with this information. I will continue the complaint process until the service rep understands that he shall not engage in this conduct ever again.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I’ve went to Volkswagen service center for my Jetta because my car was experiencing an error message stating “please check the starter system” and it will shut off. Once I towed the car to them, they’ve stated that my battery was the problem and that if I replaced the battery then my car would work again. After they have confirmed that that would help, I agreed for them to do it because the car is unable to drive off the lot and I live an hour away. Once the battery was replaced and they called me stating it was working, my husband drove up there and paid them. Once he got in the car, he couldn’t even drive off the lot. It turned off on him with the same error message. Now I’m out $500 and I’m back at square one. They refuse to give me a refund and I don’t have a working car. Someone need to fix this. They don’t want to accept when they messed up and taking people hard earned money. Someone need to rectify this situation.

I drove eight hours in one day to buy a car from them. Not only did the car exceed my expectations, but their customer service did also. They were straightforward in their pricing, answered all of my questions, and had a very friendly, accommodating staff. I would drive another eight hours to purchase from them again.

This is a second complaint that I am leaving on yelp since there has been nothing done to fix the horrible service department here. Went in for another oil change/tire rotation (the only reason I still use them are my free coupons included w the purchase of the car). Waited 2.5 hrs before going to see if my car was ready, it had been for almost 30 min..no one bothered to tell me. About 5 miles out my tire pressure light came on and found out I have a small leak somewhere. I left a voicemail with the manager but did not receive a call back. I took it back in to hopefully fix the problem. Waited an hour and forty five minutes before checking to see what had been done. My car had not even been looked at but that "it was next in line but could still take a while". So now almost 4.5 hours spent in 2 weeks here for an oil change and a screwed up tire. Pleaseeee do not bring your car here, I beg you!!!

I recently took my Beetle to Autonation VW Savannah with an issue of the car stalling, jerking and a hesitation when accelerating. When I arrived neither of the guys at the front desk were very personable. After a few hours and a diagnostic test the technician told me I needed an Electronic Steering Column Lock and an Immobilizer. Of course they didn't have the parts in stock so I was ask to bring the vehicle back two days later. At first they ask me to pay the full amount up front (parts and service) but when I questioned it they allowed me to pay for just the parts with the remainder due after they actually finished the work. After telling me it would be "an all day job" they had it back on the road in about four hours. The very next day I drove the vehicle appx. four miles and had the same issue as before. Called the dealership and they were very rude saying "well we fixed what the diagnostic test showed" with no other resolution offered! The General Manager (Brad Strouse) called me the following day saying we don't want you to be unhappy, give us another chance etc. By this time I am in $1382.61 so I didn't feel like I had much of a choice. He sounded sincere. Dropped the vehicle off (02-09-22). Four days later with no return call or communication whatsoever from the dealership I finally went and picked up the vehicle. The vehicle was sitting in the same spot it was when I left it. When I arrived I ask if the General Manager was in and the technician (Jeffrey Zaruta) told me he was out until Monday. In the meantime Jeffrey goes to get my vehicle and Brad Strouse comes strolling in with lunch! I had spoken with the manager on the phone but had never met him. He spoke and I casually ask what's your name. Lo and behold the General Manager has been resurrected and was back in the office! Busted! I said well Jeffrey just told me you were out of the office until Monday! LOL Then they both proceed to tell me how several people had driven the vehicle all over trying to figure out the problem. I finally just get my keys and drove the car exactly TWO miles before the car had the very same issues as before! The car had been driven a total of eight miles because I looked at the mileage when I dropped it off! Notice below how pretty much every Good review is from 2019-2020! I know this is long but well worth the read if you are even considering ANY repairs @Autonation VW Savannah! And if you are buying a vehicle you may want to consider a dealership that will actually service that investment HONESTLY on down the road. This place is like a VW with explosive diarrhea because every word that comes out of their mouth is nothing but CRAP!

Bought a 2019 VW Atlas with 11k miles on it from this dealership almost two months ago. First, they told me the factory warranty was only 3 years and sold me an extended warranty. Found out after that the factory warranty is 6 years and 72k miles. Asked to cancel the warranty within days but 2 months later have not received a refund. Second they said they would handle getting the vehicle registered and delivered the car to me with a temporary 45 day plate. The vehicle is still not registered and the temporary plate has expired. I can't drive the vehicle. I am getting little or no response from the dealership to help me and I can't even register the vehicle myself because they have the title. I have asked for the title to register it myself and another temporary plate so I can actually drive legally to the DMV myself but no response!

Terrible service from the service rep Jeff. Does not care about customer satisfaction. Doesn't respond to voice messages, does not explain what was done to the vehicle, and told me my keys were in the cup holder when he got out of the vehicle even though I was standing next to the car. I get that everyone has bad days, but in his line of business, his attitude is unacceptable. Spend your hard earned money at another VW dealership...this one does not deserve it. Also, tried to leave my review on the survey email they sent, but for some reason if you don't give them 5 stars, it won't let you.

Service dept is absolutely terrible. Will never take my car there again. Bought a brand new 2021 Atlas 4 months ago, and their own service dept broke it, for lack of a better term.I will not email Pete Capehart, as VW suggested. Appears to be their only suggestion to resolve problems. I left him numerous messages explaining the entire situation and 2 callback numbers with a voicemail and with live people, and he never returned my calls. He even couldn't be found by staff at the dealership twice when we were on the phone looking to speak with him. He either doesn't exist, or he doesn't care. Now we are stuck 2 hrs from Savannah and an hour from Macon with no vehicle. It was towed to Macon where no loaners are available, and we were told it's up to Savannah VW to get us a loaner since they messed up the car. How do we do that? We have to get in touch with Pete Capehart, which is clearly impossible. Absolutely ridiculous. In addition, I was asked to remove my original review because it would reflect poorly on the salesman. We had no issues with him. He's great! He's the reason we bought the car! Why should a review about service get him in trouble? What kind of place is this? If I do my job poorly, no one else in another dept or even in my own will catch heat for it. Your GM, Brad, is also useless and provided no help or resolution.

Do not EVER take your vehicle here. Find someone else. ANYONE ELSE. 7 days ago I took my vehicle in because the engine light and EPC light came on- took them 3 days to fix it- final bill was 2500On Saturday I was driving my vehicle on 1-16 and my engine light and epc light come back on- this time myCar starts smoking and shaking and rattling- completely un drivable! I get it towed back to Volkswagen and they are telling me to fix my vehicle it will be another 2500 I AM IN SHOCK that after a full work up/inspection and repair in my vehicle they some how "didn't see" the other issue. The Man on the phone has the audacity to tell me they suggested to fix the fuel injectors prior- but what he seems to have forgotten was that he was given the go ahead to fix EVERYTHING THAT NEEDED FIXED. I'm not one to leave reviews, especially negative ones- but please do not go here.
