I always get a bad experience when I come to this pharmacy. They need a New management staff. The same people They are running things for years, making things hard for people to get their medication. The energy I get from the staff is like they really don’t wanna be there. They are very lazy and never have medication on time.
I am highly upset and feel that I was racially profiled between 6 PM and 7 PM on November 26, 2024.. I was at the drive-through window getting my medication from a young man and everything was going well until the manager came to the window. She stated to me that I like to file complaints and I don’t like the management there. She then stated the only reason why I have a complaint is because I have to call in my medication every month. I explained to her that that’s not the reason. Then I started to give her details and reasons why I have filed my complaints in the past. She then started to antagonize me. Telling me I should just choose another pharmacy. Then I stated I should not have to choose another pharmacy that they should just choose a new management team. She then got upset and loudly said she does not have to give me my medication. I told her that’s fine if she wants to not give me my medication for no reason that I would just file a complaint. I had my three children in the car that had to experience this. She then stated that she can just say I smell like weed and not give me my medication. I told her I feel like she’s being racist. She replied I heard that many times before in walked off from the window. I do not feel comfortable with her dealing with my medication in having revenge out for me. This is an act of retaliation towards me for Filing complaints in the past and I definitely want something done about it. I will also like the recordings from the cameras to be saved. This happened between 6 PM and 7 PM.

By far the worst experience I have ever had in years of shopping at CVS! I attempted to check out and placed two bags of Halls cough drops on the checkout counter. A middle aged black lady came from an aisle and told me in a harsh and condescending tone that I needed to use the self checkout right beside the register. I told her that due to the circumstances (I didn't have my glasses with me and could not read the display on the self checkout) that I would prefer if she just rang me up herself. She then proceeded to tell me she wasn't ringing me up and I just needed to figure out the self checkout.
As she was coming off as very agitated and hostile I decided that pursuing the matter any further with her probably wasn't going to get me anywhere so I asked to speak to the manager. She replied "I AM the manager..so there". I told her I knew for a fact that she wasn't the manager and to please call the manager or another employee as I was starting to become uncomfortable around her.
As I was walking toward the rear of the store I spotted the manager who had apparently overheard the ruckus and was coming to the front to see what the problem was.
The actual manager, Glenn, intervened and immediately told the irate employee to step away and that he would handle the transaction from that point forward in an attempt to de-escalate things.
I have been shopping at this CVS for years and I have dealt with Glenn many times and he has never been anything short of exceptional in his kindness, patience and desire to satisfy his customers. Glenn, and the pharmacy people at 5401 Abercorn CVS are the reason I drive 5 miles out of my way, past the 712 Stephenson store, to shop at 5401 Abercorn.
Glenn managed to calm the irate employee, send her off to another part of the store and took over my transaction. I told him the only reason I needed the other lady's help to begin with was because I didn't have my glasses with me and couldn't read the display on the self checkout and she flat out refused to help me and was hostile and aggressive and making it clear I could either figure out the self check out or leave.
Glenn kindly and pleasantly entered my CarePass code, redeemed my $10 monthly coupon for me and completed the transaction for me with zero further issues.
He went on to acknowledge that he recognized me as a long time customer in good standing and apologized for the behavior of the out of control employee and assured me that he would "coach" her in attempt to avoid similar incidents in the future.
I have zero beef with the actual manager Glenn, he is a fine young man and an exceptional representative of your company. He stepped in when he saw a problem, de-escalated it and completed my transaction with the grace and dignity of a gentleman.
The loon who was working up front when I first came in and came at me aggressively and in a hostile and unnerving manner all because I was unable to use the self checkout to her liking has zero business in any customer facing position, much less with a company like CVS that seems to value highly the image it puts forward to the shopping public that has a myriad of choices as to where they spend their money.
I just know I left there highly upset and unnerved through what I feel was no fault of my own (all because I left my glasses at home and couldn't read the self checkout display), and hell will freeze over before I ever step foot back in 5401 Abercorn CVS.
I will remain a faithful CVS customer because CVS didn't castigate me or make me in fear for my safety. CVS as a company has been good to me and I will continue to do business with you as a company, just not at 5401 Abercorn.

Forcing customers to self-checkout. Twice I have shopped and ended up leaving the store and my cart of items without checking out as they refused to have a cashier check me out. Previously this was my favorite location to shop. Now I completely go out of my way to avoid shopping at the Derenne/Abercorn CVS location.

Great store CLEAN well stocked great pharmacists always helpful. I ride pass the store on Montgomery Crossroads AND Sandfly really dirty and unkept. A extra couple of miles out of my way just to visit this store, #5520. Clean it up Sandfly and Montgomery Crossroads.

I guess no one works here. I was in the store and I pressed one of the buttons they have available for assistance. I wanted to purchase something that was in a security box. I waited what I thought was an appropriate amount of time for a small store because I had seen two people in CVS polos. One stocking an end cap and one who was kind of tucked in the back in the shadows. Waited for at least two songs. Went to grab drinks. That guy in the shadows was also grabbing a drink and was able to tell me I wasn't overlooking Pepsi products and that Pepsi just isn't stocking up heir products. Maybe he's on a break or off the clock. Everyone deserves a break. No harsh feelings there. But I go to check out and there's no one there either. I'm not sure why there are customer service people or cashier's when customer service is not provided and I am my own cashier. CVS should pay me an hourly wage.

I wish I could leave 0 stars went to clinic in back to get wellness check was refused service for a wellness check,they did the same service for members of my union hall a couple of days prior.when i complained the two nurses were very rude and called security because i asked for there names to complain.i told the manager the situation and said im not coming back.....he said good!

Staff is brusk at best. Parking is minimal, no restroom available. This store isn't doing well.

I know there’s a lot of bad reviews here, but I’ve had nothing but kind, cool, and attentive service with all the ladies I’ve seen working here over the past year. They always seem busy but I appreciate their teamwork and efficiency. Great job ladies! Thank you!
