About First Bryan Baptist Church
First Bryan Baptist Church is an African-American church rich in history, organized in 1788. It is the oldest continuous black Baptist church. The site is the oldest parcel of land owned by Black people in the United States. The current sanctuary was constructed in 1873 and is a beautiful edifice. The church offers great preaching, singing, and spiritual services. There is amazing music ministry and choir. Service is at 11:00 am Sunday mornings and can be watched online via Facebook and YouTube. Tours are given during the week. Visiting is more than just seeing a historical site; it is a blessed and truly amazing experience. The church is decorated beautifully for Christmas with angels, plants, ribbons, and trimmings. Its epic history makes it a most see.

Did not get to hear a sermon. I did appreciate the history of building, being a part of Savannah's past. If you are an admirer of pipe organs they have two.

This is my family church, rich in history. This is the oldest, continuous black Baptist church. Research the history and then come e percent history for yourself. You will love the preachings of Dr. Rev. Christopher Pittman, Sr.
