Bad location for the store, registers are clumped in front of the aisles, cashiers missing items to scan. Just a weird place

Cool building. You have to park across street, not a big deal. Super friendly staff.

I visited the Kroger store in Downtown Savannah on December 24th, 2023, just days ago. To my dismay, the store had locked the doors PRIOR to closing time. Of course, the store already had closing scheduled earlier than usual being a holiday, and even earlier than other supermarkets in the area (Publix closed at 7pm). However, Matt, the store manager, would allow nobody in at 5:50, even for 1 item. What I found most shocking (along with being so rude on Christmas Eve when someone may need a crucial item prior to not having ability for 2 days), is the absolutely careless, reckless, and disrespectful behavior he exhibited - literally laughing that he was keeping the doors locked (a granny begged to be let in to buy her grandson a birthday cake as well; note that these were 1 time purchases not an entire spree for ingredients for Christmas Dinner). When stores have a closing time, that mean, you are not allowed inside. It doesn't mean that the store closes prior to then. I live in London but visit an investment house in Savannah every once in a while (have lived in SF, NYC, S. Africa, all over). Deontay (sp?) was equally disrespectful, even though he likes to fist bump patrons while working. Funny that on Christmas Eve he and Matt can be so heartless. Kroger began as a family run business, treating people like this on a holiday is distasteful. Not everyone can jump in their car and drive (we dont keep a car in Savannah as we rarely visit and do not need cars where we live). I seriously dont believe that having the doors open until ACTUAL closing time would hinder anyone, its called running an honest business. Is it really worth it for them to get home 10 minutes earlier. Disgusting.

"Have a nice day." Four words you will never hear after spending your money at this Kroger. It's bad enough there's never a cashier to ring you up so you have to ring up your own items while a paid employee stands there and watches you they could at least tell you to have a good day but no. What ever happened to customer service?

I stopped in to only get one gallon of milk after many months not going there, the gallon I got was sour and made me sick so far for two days after the first taste

No stars but had to pick 1. Starbucks needs to stop hitting on married men and keep to their own lives. Pathetic.

I'm in Savanna (October 2023) for a business meeting and needed a grocery store to stock my hotel room. What a mess of a store! It's dirty and very unorganized. I couldn't get down a few of the aisles for piles of boxes sitting on both sides. This is the only grocery store close to downtown so your choices are limited. What a disaster. For such a wonderful place, Savannah really needs to step up its grocery store game. I'd give this place a half-star, if I could.

I made this review just to give a shout-out to Brandon, the closing self-checkout cashier tonight! Not only did he greet us, he pointed out an open register and cleared a basket the previous customer left. The register couldn't do cash at the time, so he made a point to say he could help us with cash payment if we needed it. Truly above and beyond effort in less than 30 seconds, we were very impressed! ?This is our regular grocery store. For the most part, it's well-stocked and has regular deals. The reason 1 star is missing because the ladies' room is out of shape and some of the other self-checkout cashiers don't pay much attention.

Brandon of customer service walked away from a customer he was helping when i grabbed him to answer a quick question he told me he was helping someone else! He clearly wasn’t! He was rude and had an attitude! I am not pushy and did not by any means interrupt anything happening. He was a rude and arrogant person who did have the attitude “ fresh for everyone”. Do not put a mean clearly hated his job attitude person in front of customers. He was trying to bait me into his hateful attitude! Not having it!

There has to be a explanation with the flies. I have been to two grocery stores and three restaurants and no one is paying any attention. This is disgusting. I usually don't have to many problems but this and fresh items being molded is not where its at.

Every time I go here it’s worse. The produce is rotten and today the basil was literally dissolved, moldy, and leaking brown juice. None of the produce was ripe. Meat department was lacking too and anytime I’ve bought fish from here is was rotten. The snack food however is always stocked. EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER treats you like a chore and won’t do a damn thing without moaning and groaning about it. I have never once had a good experience here but it’s the only affordable place to shop that isn’t 40 min from my apartment.

This place has the worst customer service department I have ever seen in my life. 1 person has 2 speeds slow and slower. There is always a line there because of the inability of there customer service reps. Western is always down and they tell you after you have waited for 30 minutes in line. The customer service manager should be fired.
