Decent size dent/ ding with paint loss on passenger front door. Let staff know and they could care less. Just document it as it is an older vehicle I was told. Dirty car, dirty seats, empty water bottles on floor board. Needing tires very soon, not much tread left. Granted it was a 58,xxx mile Nissan Kick but this one needs to be retired soon.

My flight was scheduled to arrive at 4 pm. My rental vehicle was not available until after 6:30 pm. It was hands down the most inefficient and unprofessional rental vehicle encounter I have ever experienced and there is absolutely no chance of a positive review nor my return to this company.

There was a family emergency (a brother with dementia still living on his own) and I reserved a car for my arrival in Savannah but apparently in my rush to get the airline ticket I didn’t complete the process. When I got to the airport at 5:00 am there was no reservation for me. I called Travelocity where I had reserved the car and said I would keep the reservation but could not get the car until I arrived the next day at 10:30 pm. They said they only hold the rental for 24 hours so Travelocity said they would get it canceled and refunded, two hours later I was told I was not needed so I canceled my new flight and waited for Travelocity to get the refund for the car. If I had made the reservation last month and was now bailing on it I would understand no refund but it was less than 8 hours since I made the reservation. The airline canceled and refunded me but Travelocity says PayLess is holding firm and is keeping my $493.77 for a 6 day rental. I’m 75, retired, and living with my son. Money doesn’t grow on trees. Avis and Budget are the parent companies. I’ll be writing to them too.

Payless at the Savannah/Hilton Head airport was absolutely awful. We waited in line for over three hours for a rental car that was pre-reserved and pre-paid for! Insane! Never will be rent here again.

Lack of Payless locations. Ineffectual coordination between Payless and owners Avis/Budget. Lack of accountability. Ineffective customer service. Inflexibility. Unexpected charges.

The counter was closed. Instructions were left to go to Budget to pick up the car. The reservation was for 4 pm. I did not get the car until 5:30 pm. The adjustment for the return time wasn't allowed I had to return the car at 4 or be charged an additional day. It took an additional 1.5 to check out and get a receipt. The staff said the delay was due to the computers "freezing up". While waiting in line, I saw travelers going to other car rentals and picking up their car without any problems. This was my first and last time using this car rental company. Payless doesn't deserve a one star rating instead a negative rating would be appropriate.

Waited 2.5 hours for our car when we had on 1.5 hrs flight.I'll prepared sorry the spring break week crush. We were given an upgrade but the wait was just to long.

No cars available for a huge line of "reservation" holding customers. At Savannah airport, well over 50 customers in line with the most unprofessional staff imaginable. After waiting an hour with no movement, they announced that the "manager" had called and that anyone with a reservation could leave and come back tomorrow. They would pay for taxi or ride share to come back and pickup a car. Are you kidding me? What kind of idiotic business is this. And it appears on the Southwest Airlines booking as an option. Don't ever use this agency.

We booked a rental car with this company and arrived at Savannah airport to find the counter unmanned with a hand written sign saying to go to the Budget counter!! This was Dec 27 2022. After waiting in line at Budget for 2 hours we were told that Payless has pretty much been like that SINCE COVID SHUTDOWN 2020. We were lucky that Budget/Avis were able to honor the Payless reservation. We made a complaint with AARP Travel (as we booked thru their portal which is connected to Expedia) and as of today were told that Payless claims this location is OPEN? THAT IS LAUGHABLE. From this experience we will NEVER rent from this place again. I am warning others not to as well. Put this company out of business FOR REAL SINCE THEY CLAIM THEY ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS BUT ARE CLEARLY NOT.

The review is for the car that I received.I made reservations and paid for it in advance about a week before I arrived to the Savannah Georgia location. The location is along the baggage claim area with the rest of the car rentals. There was no one in Payless but they referred me to budget. Budget was able to look up my car rental and even gave me an upgrade at no charge. I was really happy.The guy at the counter was super unfriendly and cold, but he was working on January 1 and everyone else was closed. My concern was that no one walked out to the car to look it over for dings and scratches. There were a few so I want to make sure I don't get charged for it. I videoed the car myself with a few friends that I was with to make sure that I had note of it. I returned the car two weeks later, and no issues at all. It was easy. I'm really surprised at all the one star reviews because that was not my experience. Had I read those prior. I probably would not have rented a car from them. They were the best price with unlimited mileage, and super easy since it's at the airport. You pick up your luggage at the baggage claim and walk just a couple of feet to the car rental. The cars are on site so you don't have to take a shuttle. The return was just as easy. Drove up to the car return drop the car off and walked into the airport.

Poor customer service at Savannah, GA. Nobody was at the counter and did not clearly instruct customer what to do. Will try to avoid this company. But it's with AVIS/Budget, so clearly it shows the bad effect of monopoly.

Literally no reason to use anyone besides enterprise. American got me from Texas to Georgia, about a 1000 miles, in less time than it took Payless (Avis/budget) to get me the 30 feet in line to get a car. Wasn't just us, lots of people said they had been waiting for over 4 hours. Payless apparently is so short staffed they have to have the Avis/budget desk handle everything, no one was even at the Payless desk. If you literally can't even put someone at a desk to help a customer, you are too short staffed to operate.People think flying is stressful, try renting a car for Budget/Avis/Payless. You have made a lifelong enterprise customer out of me, and a lifelong detractor for your company.

There was no agent at the counter when we arrived. It said to go tot he Avis counter where we waited for 45 minutes. When it was finally our turn, they said they didn't have any move vehicles because we were late. We arrived on time but waited 45 minutes in their line so yes, we were late. Finally someone there said they could take us down to the Payless counter to get a car. It turned out fine but not a great experience.

DO NOT RENT FROM PAYLESSI wouldn't even give this one star! Got to the airport and there was no one at the ticket counter. There was a slip of paper that said go to avis. Went to avis and they said there was no car left for me from Payless, and they also had no cars available. I went to every rental counter and there were no cars available. I had to stay overnight in Savanah and hope to get a car the next day. The next day I called, they said they had cars available, but price went up $200 dollars. They said to guarantee a car i needed to give credit card #. Went i ubered back to the airport once again no one working the counter and no car available. SO I NEVER GOT A CAR FROM PAYLESS!!!! I did get lucky and got one thru a different rental agency, after loosing a day and a half of my vacation. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT RENT FROM PAYLESS CAR RENTAL. Someone at the airport told me there hasn't been anyone at the Payless counter since covid. So why are they still renting and taking credit cards??? Please save yourself the stress, and rent with a different rental agency.
