Well, the air conditioning in my 2018 Volvo XC90 has been going out multiple times. Went in the first time (August) and they replaced a hose. Went in again in November to get a new rear evaporator (had been ordered many months before but supply chain issues). Today I went for a 30K service and to have them check out my non-working AC - yes, again. Seems like I need a front evaporator due to a leak and have an appointment in a few weeks. This service will be at least one full day - maybe two days. Asked if I could get a loaner car for this time period. Was initially told yes but then was told I had to speak to the owner. The owner comes out and tells me I'm not getting a loaner because I'm not a valued customer. Long story short, I had purchased a 'lemon' in California and the Savannah Volvo dealership couldn't fix it. I escalated the issue to corporate Volvo and another dealership came to the rescue. The owner is not happy about that. He should be unhappy that his service team struck out years earlier.

Had an appointment scheduled with a loaner. Arrived and told my appointment was for the next week. I had an email reminder from them verifying my appointment was correct. Said they could work on it but could not give me a loaner (they never have loaners available). Had a prior appointment where I spent almost 5 hours waiting for my car (again, excuses, backed up is a well used one). Then 2 weeks ago, I show up for service and was told it would take much longer than expected since they were backed up. They drove me home and within minutes, I was told the car was ready! So badly managed and they treat their customers badly. I expect this dealership to fold sometime soon....The waiting area for service is horrible, dirty, ripped cushions...Volvo needs to divest itself of this dealer asap. Go anywhere else....

Three years ago the service was quite good. Not so much today. I've been bringing in my 2008 XC70 for years. The last visit was the last straw. Had an appt. at 10 am, was told it should be ready by that afternoon. Afternoon came and went, no call, no car. Called the next morning the service department said "they're working on it now." Huh? Twenty-four hours after my appt. they're just now working on it. Had not heard back from them, so I called late in the afternoon. Service said, "the mechanic wants to keep it over night to see if the battery checks out." Ok. Called the third day after my appt. "Oh they're working on it now." Three days after my appt. I feel I got lied to three times. Here's the bad part. Come to pick it up on the third day I noticed new damage to the front of my car and hood that was not there before I dropped if off. The service manager said there was no mention of the damage on the intake report. (I was told every car that comes in gets inspected and a report is made on the condition of the car including existing damage) The manager said they are not responsible for that damage because the service tech said it was already there. I asked why the service tech didn't mention the obvious damage on the front of the hood in his report when he first inspected the car. "He forgot." Right! Don't go there. Find someone else to work on your vehicle. I can't trust a company that lies to me. Neither should you.

Took my 2006 S60 to 'Volvo dealership'. Needed second opinion as to cause of engine sputtering and shaking.Car had been at another workshop for 2 weeks. Volvo dealership refused to 'check it out'. Car was not drive able. Left me hanging. Stated they did not want to get involved .So much for being Volvo experts. Never had a business refuse to check out a problem. They couldnt care less. Never deal with them.Have lived here for 14 years and had Volvo for14 years. Used same dealership multiple times.Never again.

I don't care what all these reviews say! You have to experience this for yourself. I bought a 2019 Volvo S60 from John all via text messages. I've never had such an easier car buying experience in my life. I found a demo S60 they had and John worked hard to get the deal together in less than 24 hours since the finance guy was off the next day. I drove down from Murfreesboro Tennessee to pick up the car and everything was ready for me when I got there. All I had to do was sign and go. Thanks again John for making me a Volvo customer for life!

Two stars because salesman John was very nice to deal with. Understaffed- one salesman running around trying to service three customers. That lead to the finance manager helping me which was a compete disaster. Overpriced demo cars and unwillingness to negotiate prices on vehicles. New or used. Jacksonville and SC Volvo dealerships have the same exact model of XC 40 priced almost $5000 less. When I questioned that there was no explanation as to why their price is so high. Finance guy doesn't know the product and tells me my payment with $3000 down for $46000 vehicle will be in the mid $900. I am not buying a house. That is an used car with $6000 miles on it. Then he becomes snarky and a bit arrogant and says if you want lower payment you should look for a $30000 car. Please don't profile me. You don't know what I want or can afford. Didn't even attempt to help out, negotiate or ask how he can help. Just plugged in a random interest rate which for the payment he quoted was most likely over 6%, when used car interest rates right now are around 4%. This is a luxury brand. You should treat your customers respectfully and value their business. On top of it, dealership is run down and not what you would expect from a luxury brand.

We bought a used Volvo from them 5 years ago. We take it there for service about 2x a year. Two of those visits turned out poorly. One visit they insisted we needed new tires, which they replaced. The next visit they said we needed new tires. Guess what, they never put them on at the last visit! So of course, they replaced them. Now we took it in a couple of weeks ago to replace struts. Drove it home and it was making horrible noises. We had to bring it back as they did not tighten the new parts correctly. And when we returned, it took our driving it out of the lot to tell them AGAIN that it still wasn't fixed. A waste of an entire afternoon for them to get it right! Here is the worst. They sold our name and phone number to companies that sell extended service plans. We know this because my husband was getting multiple calls everyday (supposedly there are 200 companies US wide that sell these plans). Our home phone is in my name, and we have different last names. Finally got rid of home number as it was so annoying. This truly is the worst car service company we have ever used. Looking for local mechanic that works on Volvos.... Hate to give them even 1 star!

Needed a carbon filter for my car cabin. I have bad allergies. They had it in stock! Great.

I called and got same day appointment! That never happens at Honda. Repaired vehicle, car was washed, and it wasn't too painful cost wise for a luxury vehicle. I will return.

Poor Service Experience I dropped vehicle off for service at 9am -- a simple oil change that I was told might take a couple of hours (I understand it's not quick lube and that's OK). It was still not complete at 1:30 pm when I was available to pick it up, and was told my vehicle could be dropped off at my office since my wife would need it. By 3:30 pm this was still not done, and I had to finish a work call early and pick up the car so my wife would have it available for use. When I mentioned these issues to the service manager when I picked up the vehicle, I was told simply "these things happen and there was nothing we could do." No sincere apology, no offer to compensate my wasted time by pro-rating the bill. A manager called me a couple of days later to follow-up on my service appointment and make sure "I had a great experience!" He was unaware of the aforementioned issues which means his service managers failed to inform him of these basic things. He was understanding and apologetic, but a day late and dollar short for wasting hours of my time on what should have been the most simple of service appointments. Completely unacceptable service on all accounts and gives me zero reason to return to this dealership for service and certainly will make me re-think purchasing a Volvo in the future.

We purchased our first Volvo S-80 from here in 2006; at that time the service was acceptable. When it came time to purchase our new Volvo we decided to look elsewhere. This was mainly due to the Savannah location not having much of an inventory. We absolutely love the Volvo brand and feel it is an extremely safe and reliable car; however, we did not feel this dealership provided the level of customer service that a luxury car dealership should be providing. Recently we were forced to take our new car to the Savannah location for warranty work and it was not a pleasant experience. They would not provide us with an appointment date, there was no offer of a loaner car, and there was no concern for customer service. We ended up contacting the dealership that we purchased the car from (Hendrick Volvo in Charleston, SC) and they did all of the above and more (offering to bring the car back to us so we didn't have to drive). Our recommendation; the two hour drive to Charleston is worth the level of service you will receive in both the purchase and service experience.
