We had our stuff out by around 9am on the 1st. We called and told them we were just going to grab our stuff so don't charge us for July. She said we are putting a lock on it and you can get your stuff when you pay us. So they wanted $285 for about 9 hours of use.I drove straight over there after my wife called and had everything out in 2 trips. I saw a worker heading my way... I took everything off my dolly he went to grab the string on the door. I slipped in under his arm with dolly in hand, he said ummm excuse me but I've been ordered to put a lock on the door. I said, "Wouldn't that be kidnapping?"He said I'll wait for you to come out... I packed up the dolly, grabbed my old Army trunk with wheels... through a futon over the dolly and on my head. I don't have the best back. I was down for about a week. But I got all our stuff out. He said you'll want to talk to so in so in the office. I said no, we are square.

This place is horrible. Rented in December. Didn't have access to our belongings. Gate was always locked. Crystal, the Manager, never returned my phone calls. We were given a lock with a key to use on our unit. Assumed it granted them access to our unit as well. We didn't use their lock. paid our rent on time. Jan 31 I wrote a check in their office for Feb 1-28 dates. Employee gave me a receipt. Then when we vacated the Unit the end of Feb. I was told I owed another $20. Rent increased Feb. 1 $5. I was never notified of any increase. Then they charged me $15 late fee on the $5 balance. guess I'm not getting my $40 deposit back. bunch of thrives!!!!! Don't rent here.

Clearly the manager of this establishment doesn't believe in answering their phone or following their work hours. 2 weekends before noon closing and they can't seem to do business. "CLOSED" sign is up well before the designated noon.

I guess these people don't want any business...they don't answer the phone, don't answer the door and don't return calls. I've tried to reach them over 5 times on the phone and stopped by about 3 times and they never answer. There is someone in the the office because there is a car park outside but the sign always says closed.

What is going on at Effingham Mini Storage??????? You can't reach the office by phone, phone sounds like it's hooked up to a fax machine. You can't leave a message! I mailed a check for my rent a week before it was due & it still hasn't gone through my bank as of August 11th, 2021. I left a note in the drop off box on Tues Aug 10 and no one has returned my call! There doesn't appear to be an email for this business & they are not on FB. Sign or door says closed-will return. I pray that Ms Genie is well!...however "someone" needs to be there managing this business! No one can get in touch with them & people are driving there to pay their rent & no one is there!

Had a truck reserved for my son on Christmas Eve. We were an hour late getting to the location. They didn't give a courteous call or anything. They just rented our truck to someone else and charged us a 50 reservation fee. The lady behind the desk was very rude. I will never go back here. All she had to do was give us a courtesy call. I mean it was Christmas Eve for goodness sake. No heart from these people. They don't give a hoot about anyone.

Great customer service. Climate control halls and units are always clean and Uhaul was reserved and was ready when I needed to move things into storage unit.

Truck was clean and functionable. I DO NOT like that they put a week hold on $329 and took their $257 final charge! I no longer have the money in that account for my other Bill's to process and will have to also pay the "overdraft" charges at no fault of my own!!! When I called, the lady was nonchalant to the fact that they did not explain this "authorization" charge in the beginning and didn't seem to care about the bind they put us in, the overdraft charges that will occur, nor the $329 they 'are holding' for a week. So essentially, you better have almost double the amount of money for them to play with!! I will never use them for this service again.

We moved to the Rincon area from South Carolina in March 2020. I called ahead to see if we could store our two Uhaul trucks in their facility for six days until we closed on our home, and was assured it was a secure area and it was Completely fenced in and safe. The woman told me she lived on property and she locked the gate every day at 7:00 PM. She asked for $20 for each truck and told me I had to pay in cash. When we arrived on Friday evening I paid the manager and we left our two locked moving trucks in the storage area. I got a call on Monday afternoon and she asked if we had picked up one of our trucks!? That there was glass on the ground and a truck was missing. The police were called, she said she didn't hear anything (a 20' UHAUL truck being started and driving off) and kept trying to give the $40 we had paid for six days back to me. I asked for a copy of the lease agreement they use, because she didn't have us sign anything, and I was told I couldn't have one. I asked to speak to the owner of the property, and I was told she wouldn't give me the telephone number for him. Then we were told there were NO CAMERAS, just a fence and a gate on the side of the lot with small chains and small locks.I would never recommend this place. It is NOT secure, and it's shady.
