Mr George was very nice and my girls enjoyed gem mining here. Short drive from Ellijay.

Pardon the pun but this was a gem of a place. A must visit for family and friends who are looking to go "gemming".

Girl Scout Troop 19024 was exploring Talking Rock this past weekend and stumbled upon Talking Rock General. We had a BLAST! Recommend it to anyone.

I wish I could give 10 stars! This was the most wonderful experience! George opened the gem mining just for our small family and our daughter had the most amazing time! She asked to see the flower gardens, so he gave us a personal tour and even hand cut flowers for her! At the end, she spun Busters wheel and got the most special pink stones. I cannot say enough great things! We can't wait to come back and mini golf on our next trip! Highly recommend! Thank you George for the most memorable time!

I drove out to this little gem on a whim (much like my entire trip to the area) and was disappointed that it was closed. As I searched on my phone for something else fun to do a gentleman pulled up to the realty office next door and explained they were temporarily closed (he was also the owner of this establishment). Despite that fact, he took the time to allow me to pan for gems..one of the very few things I had on my bucket list for my trip. He had to turn the water on and everything. That made my day! I will definitely be back because he didn't have to let me do that. Even after that he helped look at what I found because I thought some were just rocks.

Drove 2 hours to get there and it says it’s temporary closed! Put that on the website if your going to close?!

Staff was very friendly, need to make some improvements. They are working on it but I feel it is lacking something to really draw attention to the business. Needs maintenance done to the grounds. Also it would have been nice if the sluice boxes were closer to the store.

This was fun for my 2 year old and four year old niece. I wish the fossil dig would have had fossils other than seashells, which was explained as such, therefore we didn't participate. We drove nearly 40 miles to visit this place and wish there was more to do! The girls treasure their gemstones.

Took my two kids here (ages 3 and 6) and they had a blast. The buckets are stocked with so many gems and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We even did a fossil dig there, too. Left with such a great stash of treasures. This place is truly a hidden gem!

Everyone should take their family here especially the kids. Killer prices and lots of fun for the kids. They may even find a gemstone outside in the panning area. Fine gifts and lots of trinkets to buy. Good prices. Fun 4 all.?
