“I want to take the time to express my sincere thanks to Don Shiver, Talia McCampbell, and Mark Sealy for all they have done for myself and my mom Brenda Gambrel, not just in the recent months, but from the very beginning of the whole preplanning process. With their guidance, my Mom was able to complete all the necessary paperwork that ended up saving her life a year later when she was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious and unresponsive. I was able to honor my mom’s wishes and protect her from decisions of other family members to end her life early. By the grace of God and the people at Whiddon Shiver I had the power to make the decisions that allowed my mom to still be here with us today. I am saying all this for others to realize the importance of preplanning and getting affairs in order for your loved ones, it could truly be a matter of life and death. I will never forget the compassion shown by Mark Sealy who actually came to our hospital room to check on us when things were at their worst. That meant more to me than he probably realized. I will always be grateful for the part the Whiddon Shiver staff played in helping me to care for my mom and honor her final wishes. She is now in her final days and all of her arrangements and her own decisions are in place, which gave all of us closest to her a sense of peace.
