Today was a very exciting day for me to tour the beautiful grounds of South Eden as a potential wedding venue! However, I left very DISAPPOINTED. My appointment was at 3:00pm and upon arrival we were not greeted, and waited over an hour for Latoya to show us the venue. After my second phone call with Latoya to let her know we were there, she never showed for the appointment and after waiting a full hour we made a decision to leave. We drove over an hour to come tour South Eden & on the way home we never received a phone call from Latoya apologizing for her unprofessionalism or an explanation as to why we were treated that way. This was one of my top favorite venues & we would have loved to have our wedding at this beautiful property. However, due to the unprofessionalism I would never recommend South Eden to anyone!

Don't do it. Don't go there. No. No. No. Just NO! Poorly maintained. Poorly staffed. Highly overrated, over hyped, and over priced. Bad experience. A once good idea gone bad. Occasional one bar cell signal and WiFi is terrible.... non-functional. I feel so ripped-off.

Beautiful property! Chapel where the ceremony took place is absolutely charming. Only saw one room in the accommodations, very small but with great bathroom.Staff was lovely although did feel a little rushed to give up the glasswear towards the e d of the night because the "dishwasher is ready to go home" a bit awkward having to poor wine from glass to a plastic cup. Everything else was beautiful!

worked in the kitchen there as a culinary assistant for a month but they just fired all of us because they don't know how to keep up with portion control; management leaves a lot to be desired and they'll make you work under the table until they don't need you anymore then they'll fire you because of a mistake they made. i'd give this place less stars if i could, but the fact that it's a plantation should tell you all that you need to know, that is, if you're a person of color.

My fiance and I attended a mutual friends wedding last weekend. The property has lots of potential to be mesmerizing. If it was maintained properly. The grass was overgrown. Some lady who I thought was housekeeping thought it was a good idea to blow off a dirt driveway while we took photos? Many of the wood structures are rotting, and they need repairs done. The ceremony itself was great. The only issue was the service. The entire staff was acting like it was the first day working an event. It was a mess and hard to watch, and the lady I thought was part of the housekeeping? Turns out that was the owner. Kim. She was hostile and rude the entire dinner service. Yelling at her staff and on one occasion grabbing a staff member by the arm. It is not professional to do in front of the guest or in private, definitely not legal. I do not recommend supporting such a hostile business owner. I feel really bad for her staff and for the bride. The only positive thing I can say about South Eden is that the food was somehow done very well, considering the other areas of the property were poorly managed. Some of the best braised brisket I've had. At least the people in the kitchen know how to do a good job. If the owner(Kim) reads this. Do better and treat your staff like human beings and not just the help. Your staff is the most valuable part of your poorly managed business.

Poorly maintained death trap: do not stay hereMy friends and family recently booked out this entire resort for a wedding. During a mere, two-night stay, we encountered the following issues:• Leaking natural gas lines for gas fires• Mold, mildew, and active water leaks in fridges• Water damage, mold, and mildew on furniture and flooring• No hot water• Inoperable air conditioning• Water faucets that don’t work• Unpotable water with rust and mineral deposits (i.e, some faucets run brown/orange, one bathtub ran green)• Shower heads falling off when water is turned on• Flickering lights• Doors that won’t stay closedIf you care about your health or comfort, I recommend you stay elsewhere.

A friend got married here and our rooms had dirty water coming from the facets. The owner was very rude, and acted like this was no big deal. Had to ask for bottled water and assistance. Rat droppings in the cottage and they acted like they didn't care, housekeepers dobt speak clear english. It's poorly ran and over priced. Never again and the poor horses need to be given to someone to take care of them.Sad

The place is beautiful and the staff, especially the Chef is absolutely amazing. The owner on the other hand doesn’t seem to agree on that. From what I seen at my time there she doesn’t treat the staff very well at all. The Chef was over worked and under staffed, but she did an AMAZING job and the food was wonderful. Thank you Chef for making this a great experience!

I attended a dear friend’s wedding at the South Eden plantation in November. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking photo spots all around. The wedding ceremony was gorgeous and absolutely wonderful, and most of the staff were very friendly and you can tell they work hard and take pride in creating a beautiful event with attention to details, and the food was absolutely amazing (HUGE complements to the chef)! However, I was very disappointed to see how disrespectful the owner, Kim, handled certain situations. During the wedding reception, there was a disagreement between her and the wedding planner, which escalated into her (Kim) yelling at the wedding planner. This was completely inappropriate and it all happened in front of the wedding party, friends, and family. I just feel that as the owner of the plantation, making such a scene is very unprofessional. There is a professional way to handle business and customer service, and that’s definitely not it, and leaves a tacky memory during what’s supposed to be a beautiful moment. To the owner Kim, if you read these reviews: Do better.
