Shane is the man! Prices better than almost all other local rentals. Partner and I rented half day solo kayaks of course I soaked my shirt through in October. We still wanted to eat on the island and when I mentioned this shane gave me a t shirt he had just so I didn’t have to spend 25/30$ on a new shirt at a tourist shop. Go see him now!!!

I am so glad I found this place - everyone was incredibly friendly and the price is very fair! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a kayak rental, and for a self-guided adventure.

We had a great time kayaking. Our guide, Shane, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the area and was super nice. They were able to easily accommodate our group of 12 (all ages). Would definitely use them again!

We went out last Friday for a kayak tour. It was an easy trip, paddled around the little lighthouse and back! At the end we got to see about 20 dolphin. Our tour guide was super awesome, very knowledgeable about the area. We even found some native american pottery on our beach stop! Great experience and I would highly recommend it to others!

Both Shane and Dante were very knowledgeable of the history of the area as well as the natural wildlife. They were also quick to action when our tour had less than stellar moments, including a flip while boarding and some other small injuries, that were unrelated to the flip. It was great to learn more about the spot we are vacationing while getting out on the open water. The route is suitable for beginner to intermediate kayakers. There are waves but they were manageable as long as the near by boats respected the no wake rules. Otherwise, Shane and Dante were helpful in teaching the group how to navigate the choppy water.

Amazing experience with North Island Surf and Kayak! Shane was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area. We went kayaking and brought our dog (her first time). Shane had his dog, Peter, who was adorable and very well behaved. We saw several dolphins up close and even a sea turtle! I highly recommend this business for kayaking adventures.

DO NOT RENT OR TOUR WITH THEM! We reserved 2 kayaks for a day to explore on our own. They said to meet them at Alley 3 at 10:00am. We got there early and waited until 11:00 before we finally left. During that hour I called, left messages, emailed them, left a FB message and texted them numerous times. They never answered or returned my calls or texts. It’s been 2 days and they still have not contacted me. By 11:00 it was too late to reserve any other kayaks for the only day we could kayak. Unbelievably unprofessional, inconsiderate and rude!

Let me begin by saying that I don't like having to give bad reviews. I really only wanted half my money back when my husband and I quickly realized that this was way too advanced for us and turned around within 10 minutes of the start. When I called a couple days later I was told all we could get was a raincheck. Well do you really think we are likely to try this again when we couldn't do it for 10 minutes? No and not acceptable. Do better by ALL customers in the future dude.

These folks are awesome. We lugged a couple kayaks with us and rented a couple from them. Good peeps, good equipment and great location for a 2-3 hours of exploring. It is in an active commercial fishermen facility so you get to see some shrimping boats. There is an option for local fresh caught seafood, but they do not open till the afternoon.Anyway, you can easily kayak to a rather secluded beach. Hopefully you will get lucky and see dolphins. We saw dozens. Many were right up by our boats. Paddling over to the lighthouse is also nice.Highly recommend these folks for rentals. Good people.
