I filed a report at the better business bureau about bugs and unsafe practices yet people still stay at this so-called motel. Others have mentioned bugs but the manager insisted they don’t have this issue and attempted to blame me or make me feel like it was my fault. I travel often and LIVE ROACHES are not acceptable. If you believe this so-called motel is nasty and you are concerned for others, you’re admonished to make a report at the BBB as well. Help others who will come behind you, hoping for a decent stay by the beach, but instead will leave disappointed and out of hard earned money. It takes 5 minutes to write to the BBB. Force this place up to get up to code which will help others enjoy the Tybee Island we love!

We got here at 4:00 and no one was in the office. We had to call and they sent someone to let us into our room. We had a dog friendly room.for 2 nights, with an $80 dog fee. The room was pretty shabby. The metal screen in the sink was totally rusted through. We had to put a wash rag over it so nothing fell through the hole. For $300 for 2 nights In January, with our dog, i would expect a bit more for the price.

Dishonest and RudeMy wife and I were really looking forward to our stay here, and were immediately disappointed when we pulled up. Nevertheless, we decided to give it a chance. Upon checking in, we were shown to our room right up against a busy street. The room was dark, dingy, and dirty with the only window facing the busy street 10 feet away. The noise levels were incredibly high in the room from the traffic outside the room (dirtbikes and car speakers). When I went to express my concerns with the front desk she reported that this will only be occurring for another hour as it was Sunday. I had a hard time believing that cars and dirtbikes just stop being driven after Sunday.Next we asked for a refund given the quality of the resort and it's not being as advertised. Barbara at the front desk immediately denied that their hotel had any choice in the matter and that only Expedia (who we booked through) could, and that Expedia would likely be rigid and deny the request. Upon calling Expedia, we were told that it was entirely up to the hotel, and that our agent would have to call the hotel and try to get a refund on our behalf. Upon our agent calling, the refund was immediately denied by Barbara.I confronted Barbara about this and she immediately became hostile and began to use nonsensical metaphors in an attempt to shame and belittle me. However, she did not deny that she had lied about who was the deciding authority on the refund. She then encouraged me to pay extra for a room further from the street. We had already paid $360 for a Motel 6 stay, albeit a Motel 6 is usually further from the road, and denied her suggestion.During this exchange, I was finally able to get her to give me the manager's number. The manager was calmer, but repeated the lie that Expedia was the deciding authority over the refund. Expedia, who we still had on speakerphone, denied this as true.Upon our further attempts with Expedia going nowhere we decided to leave the dingy and dirty room, and attempt to salvage the remainder of our vacation. As I was giving the keys back to Barbara, I overheard her exchange about the hotel having been recently for sale. No wonder no one bought it.Upon our leaving, the hotel decided to renege on their promise to return 50% of our payment. This was clearly done out of spite, as they had told they’d do so in the beginning of these exchanges (we had demanded a full refund given the quality, treatment, and dishonesty). After a few days, the manager texted me and stated she had refunded half our stay, however, it was not half the money and I had to work to at least get the remainder of the 50%.

Hotel is clean and quiet. When we arrived I asked to look at the room before hand. The lady showed the room and there was no smell and was clean. It could use a little paint. The water was nice and hot. The mini fridge froze my powerade and coke cola. That was great for me. Easy walk to beach and restaurants.

At first glance it seems pretty decent. It’s defiantly over priced for the quality you get, which isn’t much. The beds are hard and uncomfortable, paint is peeling off the doors, moldy smells throughout room. At almost $200 a night in the off season you’re not even getting decent toliet paper. The nice thing is you’re not but a short walk to the beach. I would defiantly recommend skipping this hotel if you plan on actually sleeping on vacation though. I’d also like to point out judging by previous reviews that no actual action as been taken to rectify any of the issues listed by previous guest. It’s really interesting to see guest relations reply back to reviewers but months and weeks go by and the same issues are being seen by new guests. I’m currently writing this review at 3:30 in the morning due to the fact that mattress is so uncomfortable. My husband said he would rather sleep in our car then what feels like an old box spring.

Great spot right near the beach and all the hot spots. Kinda dingy rooms but it's cheap for being right on the beach.

So close to the beach! It was worth the inexpensive rate. Not a real big room but good enough for myself and two grandchildren. Walking distance to all the ships and restaurants. Will stay here

I had a great stay here. It was my first time to Tybee, and this hotel is one reason I'll be back. The room was clean, had a micro fridge and microwave, and single serve coffee maker. But, bring your own creamer and use bottled water in it instead of tap water. The beach is literally a hundred yard's walk from the hotel, and within walking distance of most great restaurants. My suggestions are: The Stingray, Sunrise, and Pier 16. If this 60 year old with arthritis in my knees can handle the walking, most people can. I checked out today and they let me leave my car at the hotel while I ate breakfast and headed for the beach the last time.

Surprised for the bad comments in here. This place it’s just like the next door Tybee hotel, but with 250dls less difference! For the price, I was pleased with cleanliness inside the bathroom and comfy of the beds. They had decent free coffee that added a smile to my early morning walk at the beach 3-5 minutes walk to the beach was amazing!
