After driving a distance to get oxtail, in the middle of nowhere. The box was suppose to be a 15 pound box of frozen oxtail. First thing I did when I got home was weigh it. I paid $119.85 for what I assumed was a 15 Lb. box of frozen oxtail. Turns out it only weighed 11.8 Lb.. allowing a give and take of plus or minus a few ounces. Still if I go with that weight, I got ripped off for $28. It would cost more to to get either the missing oxtail or the money I was over charged. The business hasn't set up their voicemail and didn't answer the phone, when I called after getting home.
Now on to how the packaging was. You can see in the picture the tape is barely on there. If the oxtail was sealed up inside. That wouldn't be a problem. But, the bag wasn't seal, twist tied, or even tied up. Looks like the oxtail was thrown in and the bag pushed in to close the lid. The tape didn't seal the lid either.
This company has definitely lost us as customers. (My wife was thinking of getting chicken and turkey as well). I will also steer others away who may ask where to get good priced meats. I should have bought oxtail at a higher price more closer to me. Would have saved me time and frustration. The reason for 2 stars is I hadn't tasted the meat yet.
