I’ve had my children here since November of 2021 and I can fully say I love it. This is by far the best daycare we’ve attended. We’ve done the fancy, brand new daycares and even though the building isn’t anything fancy, the teachers and staff are top notch. It’s very small, which makes everyone close knit and everyone knows everyone. The teachers are constant and there’s no sense of not knowing, they can always provide an answer or they will find out. I can’t say enough things about this daycare. I 100% recommend that you bring your children here, if they have a spot available!

I just want to mention that my grandson recently started attending Sunshine Academy. I couldn't be happier with his placement. The director Dina Gainey was phenomenal. She made it a little easier to allow him to attend daycare. She explained everything from door codes, check in check outs, fees and expectations. I could really tell that she loves all of the children because as she was giving me a tour of rooms, the children would run up and love on her.My Grandson is 2 and his teacher is Ms Bri. She is the best. My grandson can be very shy but she has a wonderful calming demeanor about her. She loves all of her children as well. She takes good care of them. When she goes outside with them she actually plays with them. They have water day on Tuesdays and she doesn't mind getting wet with her babies. When my grandson was out sick, she checked on him.Basically I can't say enough good things about Sunshine Academy and the staff. As soon as there is an opening for my granddaughter, she will be enrolled as well!Thank you Sunshine Academy and Staff

My child attended Sunshine Academy from February 20th to May 3rd 2015. I also worked there from February to May 2015. During that short time period, my son was not properly taken care of. A teacher laid him on the changing table that was covered in bleach. The teacher and Erica, the director, failed to handle the incident properly. They left him in bleached soaked clothes all day which resulted in a trip to the Urgent Care Center. At urgent care he was treated for a chemical burn. My son was bit by other children on numerous occasions. While I understand that children bite, I do not understand why I was rarely notified that the incident had occurred. It wasn't until I got home, that I noticed huge bite marks on his arms and hands. I constantly had to message the director after hours and question her about the incident. The director Erica's reasoning as to why I wasn't notified was because "she forgot." During that short time of working there, I noticed several red flags that led me to make the decision to remove my son from the center and find employment elsewhere. I witnessed Erica, the director, biting the children and putting soap in their mouths for misbehaving. She would yell at a little boy constantly and call him a "baby." If you are an employee, be careful confiding in Tonya, the morning director, any of your personal business. They will attempt to use it against you. This is my personal experience as a parent and an employee. I know I have made the best decision for my son and I to leave this center and I hope any parent who sees this will think twice before enrolling their child at Sunshine AcademyEdit: If you go to Bright from The start and read the complaint investigation in May of 2015 It clearly states a child received a chemical burn and children were left unattended on the playground. The center was fined and reprimanded for not reporting the incident to the state.I do agree for parents to do their research. Dont always listen to directors and owners who are more focused on profit rather than being upfront and honest with the parents. You see what goes on for five or 10 minutes during drop off not what goes on all day.The cameras were not even working in room D to prove that the director bit the child, but it was proven my son recieved a chemical burn from pictures and medical documentation. The owners response that the allegations were unfounded is misleading.Read the report.

I love this place my oldest daughter has been going to them since she was one. She's currently enrolled in their after school program. This year I had the pleasure of adding a new sweetie to their facility. I can't think of a better place that I feel comfortable with. I am so happy about the service that they provide. I like the fact that I can go to work and not have to worry about my kids. As a mom a lot of people seem to bash parents who put their kids in daycare as if mothers can not work. Sunshine may not be perfect for everyone one but they are perfect too me. So thanks for everything that you guys do. Special recognition goes to Miss Angel, Mrs. Jessica, Miss Bre, Mrs. Erica, Mrs. Tonya, Mrs. Katina and last but not least Mrs. Patrice. If I left anyone out charge it to my mind not and not my heart.?

Very unprofessional management staff! Tonya Sharpe Administrator is very unprofessional giving out negative reports to a company about me. When I asked Tonya to give me a separation letter this is what she wrote > "I don't know why Brittney is asking us to write this." < very unprofessional period. I had a problem with Erica (Director) and Tonya (Administrator) at first with the Department of Labor with my unemployment Case, what they did was wrong, not a fair company. It was no need to give a negative comment to another Preschool about me Tonya when you have me still in your system and want me to fill in. Obviously, I couldn't be what you are stating about me if so why would I work around your children? Which is a unprofessional facility. I just want Tonya to know the preschool still hired me on and feel I am overly qualified for the job. That I have child care experience and credentials and even wants to hire me on as a Lead Teacher for the two year olds. The Preschool also wants me working full time and working with the after school children. So that doesn't sound like a negative person that can't work around children. Stop being evil Tonya instead be a better woman of God that you claim to be.
