“I came in for a routine return (don’t ask, it involves a rotisserie chicken and a receipt I found crumpled in my glove box) fully bracing for a 20-minute ordeal. Instead, Peter handled it with the calm precision of a surgeon and the warmth of your favorite uncle. No judgment, no sighing, just pure professional grace under pressure — while simultaneously managing a line, soothing a customer mid-meltdown over expired coupons, and somehow still remembering my name by the end of it. At one point I swear he diffused an argument about bag fees using nothing but eye contact and a well-timed joke.
Did he save me from a burning building? Not technically. But if the front end ever did catch fire, I have no doubt Peter would evacuate the store, process everyone’s returns on the way out, and still have the register balanced by the time the fire trucks showed up.
“Assistant Team Leader” is the title. “Front End Legend” is the reality. Give this man a raise, a parade, or at minimum first pick of the rotisserie chickens.”
