1-19-24This bunch left ruts in my drive way and yard from trying to get to a neighbor's pole. There was no way reach that pole from our side.Didn't knock, didn't wave, didn't fix their tire tracks.Time for a gate. Next time they will need to contact me before using my drive way. Easements are fine and understood, but I will not tolerate property damage.

Worst customer service. When you take the time to go to the office, they send you to a room to talk with a representative on the phone. Everything thing you ask about has a fee. Even changing the address of where the bill is sent. Sure wish people had a choice for electricity.

It would be nice for the systems to NOT be down when we have to pay our bill. The system is also telling me I don’t have an account when I’ve been a customer for 2 years and of course they would be closed today.

My neighbor had a large oak branch come down this morning. Took down their line. Within 20 minutes, 2 gentlemen, David and Tommy came out and cut limb loose, raised the line , within a total of 40 mins power was restored. Many thanks to these two men.

Jefferson is the absolute worst.. they have so many rules and they do not work with their long time customers.. so glad I am not buying my home in hephzibah.. Georgia power do help their customers and work with arrangements.. my dad has been with you all forever and he couldn’t get a arrangement and he is disabled.. horrible.. they will cut ur lights out and charge you a reconnection fee and 50 dollar processing fee.

I moved to the area from out of state and I've never had an electric bill over $200 until dealing with JEC. This company either falsifies usage rates completely or their prices are the most expensive in the nation. Our electric bill is consistently around $400 no matter what we do, even during months that my family was out of the country. The customer service is horrible. They don't care about anyone's circumstances with being unable to pay a $700 bill, they just shut it off. We have taken drastic measures to improve the usage and none of it even makes a difference. Other friends in the area pay much less with bigger houses and more AC units. When we expressed our concerns about the false usage rates, we were just told that it was cold during the month and that's why it was more- but we used our fireplace the entire winter. We didn't even use any heating, so that doesn't even make sense. I'm convinced this company is scamming people our of their money.

We have been part of the JEC family for a year and we have had reliable electricity, and excellent customer service. They even went the extra mile to install new farm lights in two places, and assisted me with a problem that was not their fault. They are great!

My wife and I have had an account with Jefferson electric for 20 yrs they really are not customer oriented at all they don't work with you if you have any issue getting your bill paid on time they just cut our power off 6 days after the due date with no delinquent notice at all they sent a email that went to my spam folder . Webe never had a disruption in service till now and they could care less that my wife and I have serious health issues that require power im on a breathing machine at night and my wife has a pacemaker that has to communicate with the base next to the bed so it can make adjustments and also notify the doctor with any issues. If I could switch to another company I would in a skinny minute..

They tell me it's $150 to buy two or three days extra to pay my bill of over $300 and there is basically only one person at the house other than myself and I'm an otr truck driver. Go figure. Looks like they didn't have a problem giving this customer (see pic) a few extra days and it appears by his wording he wasn't charged anything. And just like this guy did I actually called in advance before the due date and was told I would just have to pay the late fee. In his statement he said he has never been told "no", that means he has been late prior to him posting his review. Although I have been late recently because of production problems with the products I haul due to covid I have never had to call them to ask for any extensions until this recent bill. I guess you can do anything if you're the only supplier.I forgot to mention that they said I would have to pay a $300 deposit to have it turned back on after a couple days. So much for a non-profit companyHappy customer review below

Not very friendly people when you have to go inside. They don't even give a breakdown of your bill anymore. I think it should be illegal because we all know Jefferson Energy isn't a company of integrity.

while they do offer power, they are very unforgiving, especially during a 2+ year lockdown with people not being able to afford basic necessities, this company seems to be out for money. Do they give discounts for people in low income circumstances? For disabled who only get so much with SSDI, WHEN THEY DO ACTUALLY FINALLY GET APPROVED, it the people on LTD who are WAITING for SSDI to get approved. Or any other programs to lower costs? it's scary when you have a family member dependant on energy for survival and they refuse to work out any kind of decent solution so that family member doesn't die or end up in the hospital just adding to the surmounting amount of money they already don't have. Also when there's a power outage after I just spent over 200+ dollars on meat to freeze and everything thaws out and you end up throwing most of it away. it's sad and a disgusting.

Zero stars is applicable. Con artists bordering criminal activity. Billing department is unqualified, rude, and unwilling to do anything that even resembles customer service. I have been on auto pay for 4 years now, and periodically - I'll get a call threatening (not informing, not a courtesy... a rude threat) to shut my power off, and charge a reconnect fee. Laughable. I have gone through various hoops to remedy this issue, but it seems this is how they gain some extra cash so somehow it reverts back. I've never dealt with a more shady business in my life. Remarkable too, for being a "cooperative" where the users are all "owners". Pathetic and monopolized, there is simply no other option of a service provider where I live. Not to mention the dishonest usage rates that spike during hours where my home isn't occupied, and no appliances (HVAC included) are running. This should be a legitimate factor in your search for a new home. Avoid the headache altogether. More residents need to write reviews on these scam artists for the sake of the people.
