My first time to stop in and try this place as I was heading up to our house on the lake. We were not impressed at all. I got a veggie plate and there was nothing southern about the food. Absolutely no flavor! The collard greens were awful. Tasted like frozen collards with no seasoning. The gravy was like gelatin, cornbread tasted like it was left over from the day before, dry! The food was not hot. I love a good country restaurant but this is not it

Staff was friendly. Food that was recommended was terrible. My wife ordered turkey sandwich. Had a postage size slice of turkey. There was about 2/3 area of bread that had nothing, just plain bread. I understand that breakfast is good. I would not recommend for lunch

We arrived at Mary's, told breakfast stopped at 10:30..it was 10:29. Told wait was 30 minutes, we waited 45 minutes. Seated. Waitress said it would be at least 45 minutes before we could order, as they had to change kitchen over. If the lady had told us that in the beginning, we would have understood and left. I would not recommend this place if for no other reason than their disrespect for customers and total inefficiency

I am a Steakhouse owner in the neighboring state. A sweet lady Sharon said go by and try Mary’s. I will tell you.,, we WILL BE BACK. In this day and age it is not easy finding people who like to work with a smile on their face. Mary’s was run perfectly. Great people , smiling happy to see you. The food. Was like being back is grandma’s kitchen. My husband and I both agreed that we loved it. So go to this restaurant and have a down home cooked meal. This place is also very CLEAN!!

From the 3 different breakfast restaurants we had in the area, Mary's provided the best options and food. Even crepes were on the menu for half or less the price of the place in Helen! I made the mistake of offering my wife some of my fluffy pancakes with an extra vanilla flavor. Tore-it-up! The sliced potatoes were also a different but nice taste of a side.

We honestly came to Mary’s not once but twice because our hotel “continental breakfast” was extremely lacking and we were willing to pay for food. Came back the second day because of how good the food was. It’s a fantastic place for breakfast, the oats, crepes, pancakes, fresh fruit, omlets, and bacon were delicious. The gravy left a little to be desired but I’m picky with my biscuits and gravy.

Short Changed. Shame that what used to be a great place to eat has had to resort to short changing their customers. "Blondie" served our meal - she was OK at best - and we finally got our check. Came to $56.29. I gave her $60. My change? $3. I went in a week later and got a different waitress. Bill came to $47.27. My change from a 50? $2. Sorry, I tip very well. 15% at a minimum. I know they work for their money, but SO DO I. Seems to be a common thing up here now. Other restaurants do this garbage too. Just never expected to basically get ripped off after all of these years at this restaurant.

Fantastic breakfast. My husband didn’t eat the pancakes that came with his meal and they credited it back to the bill. Staff is super friendly. Will definitely be back

So disappointing! This place used to be amazing. Wait was over an hour today, then you wait another hour + for food, food was horrific. It used to be consistently great. We sat in the far corner and it sounded like a daycare the entire time with screaming children behind a door connected to the back kitchen area. You know it’s bad when the waitresses are complaining about management “sitting and eating breakfast while the kitchen is backed up. If it were Mary, she’d be busting her *** in the back.”. We get up and go to pay and get reprimanded for not paying our waitress. What a joke. This is beyond disappointing and we once really enjoyed this place. Won’t ever come back.

They served turnip greens when I ordered collards from the menu; they still tasted good. My hamburger steak was overcooked and dry; adding ketchup helped. Jalepeno coleslaw was delicious! Bought a pint of chicken salad to take home - excellent!Food: 3/5

The food was delicious and hot especially the soup. The servers were friendly. And the other customers seemed to be enjoying their lunch and there was a line of people waiting to get inside also people waiting inside to be seated.Food: 4/5

Food was good. They are a cash and check only restraint which is a little inconvenient when their ATM isn't working. However, they do have a card reader and POS system so I'm not entirely sure what the reasoning is for cash only.Parking: Parking is limited but never too bad.

Real old fashion Southern chicken salad, tasted as good as my Grandmother's. Her's was outstanding. Hamburgers were also very well prepared and a high quality of beef was used. Quantity was generous. Sweet potatoes fries and onion rings were also fried to perfection.Food: 5/5
