Very helpful. Looking to apply for LIHEAP again in October! It's only August, and I need help now though. Since my Husband passed away last year, and my Brother who was resuscitated 2 x in May from a freak accident at his gym, he needed emergency surgery to remove his spleen and blood transfusions. He should've just had his hip replacement by now and be working. We are both disabled and we've had a major setback plus our rent has been raised!I just need help until October! I hope management and leadership sees this. So I took off work early (230pm) because people like me works hard for our money but and unfortunately working full time for me still doesn’t provide for me and my family to survive specially on my income as a single mother with a physically disabled 7 year old son. I took off work only to be told that they only accept applications for the electricity credits from 9am-12pm. I just started a new job and I don’t have any leave occurred. Also, my company’s policy that I only can request off with unpaid leave for an amount of time before I get write up’s from my employer. They don’t make any accommodating for people like me to help out single mothers who have disabled children and who I was previously been in a domestic violence relationship. HCAP do not care about anyone but them selves because they are understaffed and under paid. The woman also said it stated the times when they accept the application which isn’t true because none of the application I read or on their websites says only from 9am-12pm. So I have to sacrifice one whole day without pay just to get assistance for something I can’t even provide for my family?

HCAP really is a great place to apply for assistance because they have so many programs and if they are unable to help it seems like HCAP know other avenues and agencies that may be able to step in and help. If I could give more than 5 stars this would be where I would give 10 plus.
