One of the oldest and original Safeway stores. Usually well stocked. Staffed by great, kind and helpful employees. Shop the specials and it won't sting so bad.

Rating on Service, should be a zero in my opinion**** Maybe, this is my perception and I don't understand. But I went around 530a this morning before work. Register 3 I believe. Cheryl was my cashier. She was friendly I guess. Greeted/Acknowledged me. But what I didn't like...I walked up and she was spraying and wiping the checkout conveyor belt. It was still wet. And she didn't bother wiping it more. I'm placing food and beverages on this? She continued spraying and wiping in between ringing my items. She didn't place all my items at the area they normally place so you can grab them. She left half of the items on the conveyor belt...hm? I tried to call the number provided to leave a comment on this but was given the generic automated recording who told me the store is closed. I understand in a way, it's just packaging. But I'm not even certain what she's spraying in her bottle. Or...this could have waited till I was pau paying? Huge turn off, no thanks Safeway.

I usually don't do supermarkets reviews, but this one definitely deserves 5 star. I've been in different Safeway locations here on Oahu and this one hands down one of the best. Inventory is outstanding: you can find pretty much everything you need, the store is clean and neat, everything on its right place! Two thumbs up for management team, well done guys!

i went to this safeway recently and the cashier was rude and when i talked to some people i know they told me the same thing about the cashiers there. there are multiple of them with bad attitude. also i witnessed a worker getting yelled at and was called names by a customer and it was very upsetting how the manager didn't even try to say anything on behalf of her worker. im a customer myself and i can say that customers are not always right. i get upset about things but i would never humiliate and yell at any workers. i loved the deli side tho their chicken wings are the best especially the vinegar ones! always greets us with a smile and great attitude. also they always clean their stations so i know their food is clean and safe!

I like shopping at Safeway because they have pretty good sale prices. Unfortunately, they are eliminating alot products of their own brand.
They are doing better keeping the shelves stocked. Very nice people working at Waimalu store.

If you stick to the Safeway app and study it, you can save ?. If you don’t use the app, it’s definitely an expensive store. I understand inflation has really increased prices but some of the prices are flat out ridiculous. An example is 20oz drinks. $3.29 is just too much. Laundry detergent and paper good are also expensive unless you get it on the $5 Fridays
