The Scholastic Book Fairs happens several times a year. I think one is in December and one is at the end of the school year in May. I enjoy going to the December fair because books can be a great gift for kids. Haha can you tell I'm in the education field.... Anyways, I went there this year because I was going to get my daughter's class books for their Christmas presents. They have quite a few specials at the book fair. One of their specials is build a box. You get a box for like $25 and fill it with as many books as you want. Sounds great but there's only a certain section that you can look to do that. Nothing in that area looked good to me. Helpful hint: if you want to get the good cheap books, then go early. I went about a week and half after it started and many of the cheap books were gone. They have aisles and aisles of books arranged by age or topic. Since I was looking for preschool books, I went to the preschool aisle. I didn't really know the system but I figured it out after walking down a few more aisles. There are price labels under each book. If it has a pink label, that means it's a discounted and cheap book. Since I was buying 18 books, as soon as I noticed that I went through every aisle to look for those cheap books. Of course since I was a week and a half late, many of them were gone. I did find one interesting book for $2 and was able to find 18 copies for the class. I thought I struck the jackpot with $2 a book. But then I went up to the counter and found out it's buy one book, get one free. Woohoo, I was over the moon. I got 18 books for $18! What a deal! The worker said all books are buy one, get one free. I'd definitely go back here. If you're looking for books for kids, come check out this place.

I was a co-chair this year on my kid's school's book fair, and I had a great experience with them for that, as well as their warehouse sale. I signed up online for a preview event, and I got loads of great ideas for our fair, as well as some freebies. There are lots of resources available for book fair chairpeople, both direct from the warehouse and staff, as well as online. Restocking was pretty easy - we called a 800 number, and the orders were available for warehouse pick-up the next day. We happened to pick a book fair week that was apparently book fair week for everybody else on island, so we had a bunch of titles that sold out and were out of stock. Not much anyone could do about that, but it would be helpful if they were able to plan ahead for busy rushes, or connect the national 800 number with local warehouse stock. There's also a warehouse sale 2x a year, and I just got some fantastic deals at the December sale (convenient for holiday gifts). They open up the warehouse for shopping direct from the shelves, plus they have a clearance section up front where you can fill a box for a fixed price. All warehouse books are BOGO, and so is the clearance box deal. Two boxes of books for $30. I split mine with someone else, so we each got a box of books for $15 each. There was a variety of books for grownups, teens, elementary, and preschool; harcover and paperback. I got 20-30 books (a lot of thin paperback leveled-readers) in my box, which is a remarkable deal. They reset their clearance fill-a-box section every day with new stuff, too. I signed up online and got a coupon code emailed to me. Cash, credit, debit, Scholastic Dollars, and purchase orders accepted. Staff were friendly and helpful and there are multiple registers, so I doubt you'd ever have a wait.

We love coming here each year for the warehouse sale. There's no better deal on books for kids and adults, both.
