Wow. Wow. Wow! We’re truly speechless.
We spent a few nights of our honeymoon at Lee and Svetlana’s incredible little piece of paradise, and we were absolutely amazed by everything. The room we stayed in had a stunning view of the ocean, the tropical landscape, and the Captain Cook area. We could watch the sunset from our bed and woke up every morning to the most breathtaking view!
The first time we entered the room, we were moved to tears, that’s how beautiful it was.
Lee and Svetlana have a large property filled with a variety of fruits and vegetables, which they serve for breakfast. They also have free-roaming chickens, which Lee lovingly feeds with walnuts. And speaking of breakfast, Svetlana’s cooking is simply outstanding. You’ve probably never had a breakfast this good before. Everything is homemade, fresh, and full of love. It’s just… wow!
We feel honored to have met them and to witness the dream life they’ve created for themselves. This is more than just a recommendation, you absolutely must go and experience it for yourself. We guarantee you’ll love it 100%!
Thank you again for this unforgettable experience.
We’ll definitely be back! A hui hou!

Our stay at the Aloha Guest House was a truly peaceful and authentic Big Island experience. Nestled on a 5-acre organic fruit farm, this eco-friendly B&B offered stunning ocean and forest views, a welcome retreat from the island's busier spots.
What really stood out was the genuine Hawaiian hospitality and the incredibly tranquil atmosphere. Our room was comfortable with thoughtful amenities.
The delicious, homemade organic breakfast was a daily highlight. It often featured ingredients from their own farm, including fresh eggs and fantastic 100% Kona coffee – a perfect start to each day.
The Captain Cook location was ideal for exploring. It was just a short drive from Kealakekua Bay, famous for its snorkeling. If you're looking for a serene, immersive Hawaiian getaway away from the crowds, I highly recommend the Aloha Guest House. It truly felt like a slice of paradise.

This local B&B about a 1h drive away from Kona Int'l Airport will forever have a special place in our hearts. We're deeply grateful for our gracious hosts, Lee & Svetlana who prepared us nourishing homemade, farm-to-table breakfasts, shared stories about their happy chickens, recommended us places/activities & went above & beyond during our 1-week honeymoon stay in June 2025. They're a remarkable couple who ran the B&B with love & care, live off the land & grew their own exotic fruits, made homemade jams & served 100% Kona coffee, providing us w/ a memorable quality experience. Svetlana's breakfasts are truly unmatched & the pancakes/waffles/banana breads aren't ordinary — they contain apple bananas, cherries, apricots & other seasonal fruits!
We stayed in the Kohola Room with the panoramic ocean view & private gazebo enshrouded in lush rainforest. We didn't even turn the TV on because watching the natural view was far more interesting. We experienced periods of rain, witnessed mesmerizing sunsets & early sunrises. We heard invasive frogs at night & encountered wild calves, saw geckos, butterflies & various birds including roaming chickens. There's a shared kitchenette for guests to cut food, heat takeouts or ready-made meals from the grocery & boil water for tea/coffee.
Some things to note:
:: We saw a roach on the kitchenette floor, which is normal in any hot climate. The overall room & communal spaces were kept clean.
:: No stove in the kitchenette. Just a microwave, electric kettle & coffee steeper in terms of appliances.
:: The guest rooms have louvered doors to allow airflow but doesn't provide full privacy, so we're mindful of any noise.
:: We had communal daily breakfasts w/ the other couple staying in the Horizon Room. If dining w/ strangers isn't your jam, then consider a resort or AirBnB instead.
:: The custom shower in the Kohola Room has a narrow entrance & will be too tight for wider body shapes.
:: Due to the steep, unpaved Old Tobacco Road that leads to the B&B which we grew to love, we realized those w/ chronic back pain will find the slow & careful 7min drive unpleasant. No street lights to illuminate this road at night. We highly recommend renting a 4WD vehicle since this is off-roading & essential to get around Big Island, but it's all a part of the adventure leading to this hidden paradise!
We will certainly return again to the Aloha Guest House in the future. This isn't a goodbye, but an until we meet again! A hui hou. Mahalo from Vancouver, Canada!

My husband + I had the pleasure of staying with Lee + Svetlana for 3 nights during a recent trip to the Big Island. We couldn't have loved the Aloha Guest House more! Our room was very comfortable + had an incredible view -- we slept like babies every night with the cool breeze + peepers singing their little frog chorus. The property's water -- which Lee pointed out to us during our arrival tour -- was also MAGICAL: perfect for drinking + even better for showering. Just as promised, my hair + skin never felt better. The property was also incredibly beautiful -- amazing views of the water + a really inspiring garden. But hands down the best part was breakfast. Svetlana is a KILLER cook; every plate of food was mind-blowing (special shout-out for the daily fruit plate). And we absolutely adored the opportunity we had to chat with our hosts each morning. It was lovely to connect with folks who are clearly so grateful for + respectful of the island they call home. Plus they're funny as hell :)
Last thing: Old Tobacco Rd is no big deal! Sure it's bumpy, but it's totally safe + absolutely passable if you drive slow. It's vacation -- shouldn't you be taking your time anyways? Enjoy the view + give it up for the unique opportunity you have to be driving up the slopes of an active volcano! How cool is that?!

Staying at the Aloha Guesthouse with Lee and Svetlana was an amazing experience.
Pros: Our room had incredible views, it was comfortable, and a very spacious outdoor space to relax in. It was thankfully free of any pesky roosters so we slept very well. They provided all the amenities needed for time at the beach/in the water, and wonderful suggestions about things to do. The breakfasts were outstanding, with most of the ingredients coming from their farm and homemade. They served excellent coffee from Hala Tree Farms and we were able to go visit the farm just up the road and bring back some of our own. It was a joy to talk with them over breakfast. We really liked the location, since it was very close to Two-Step Beach and just south of Captain Cook, so we were away from the touristy nature of Kona and Waikoloa. It made it easier to explore south and over to the National Park. This is definitely a great spot to get away and relax. We would definitely want to stay here in a future visit to the Big Island.
Things to Know: I'm not listing any cons, because I don't think there are any from our perspective, but you should know they aren't joking about the rode up to their property. It's definitely bouncy and I think a SUV is very helpful. They said people have made the drive with a Mustang, but I wouldn't recommend it. I don't think a Jeep is ideal (we had one) because they bounce a lot on their suspension, which could make someone prone to carsickness a bit woozy. We just planned our schedule to only make one out/back trip a day if possible. We negotiated the drive both ways in the dark, and it was fine, so no worries about that.
In summary, a fantastic experience at an incredible property with wonderful hosts. You can't go wrong staying here.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? It's all true. The views are amazing; Lee and Svetlana were incredible hosts, the truly-farm-to-table breakfasts were delicious and healthy, and it was such a respite from the hurried world. Fun to explore all the fruit trees, and have beautiful beaches and Shaka Tacoz (best Ono/fish tacos ever!!) nearby. Kohola room, can't wait to come back for a return visit.

A really beautiful and peaceful haven. Svetlana and Lee spared no effort in making sure to make our stay unforgettable.
First thing first, the room was neat and the view was breathtaking. Everything you would need is there and the bed was pretty comfortable. The temperature was comfortable for all of our stay, there's really no need for AC.
Second, the breakfasts... Omg 😳... I consider myself a foodie/critic and Svetlana's breakfasts were simply delicious, she's an exceptional cook. It has been a while since I was this excited for breakfast. Plus, their homegrown fruits and veggies were a delight!
Third, they provided everything we needed for our trips; cooler, icepack, boogie board, beach chairs AND useful advices and recommendations, etc..
So yep, the road to get there isn't the easiest drive, but who said heaven was an easy road. You just need to take your time and it's worth it!!!
Their location is near some of the most popular places in this region and it's a quick 40-45min drive to central kona.
I definitely recommend this place, and we look forward to coming back next time we visit the island.
We had a wonderful time, thanks Lee and Svetlana 🙏 for everything.

Dear Svetlana, dear Lee, thank you so much for this unforgettable time in your paradise. We had so much Hawaii in one place. Beautiful nature, a botanical garden, singing birds, natural drinking water and fantastic sunsets. The breakfast was unique. So interesting, natural and delicious new recipes. We learned a lot. It was so nice to evaluate the days with you and plan new things with your good experiences. We have already shared with our friends the fantastic experience and of course your address as the best on Big Island. Thank you very much for the wonderful days and we wish you all the best. I’m back home reminiscing our get away trip at The Aloha Guest House B&B. First and foremost, Svetlana and Lee were amazing host from the detailed and amusing directions (there’s even a YouTube video you can watch) to their gorgeous home to the thoughtful, delicious breakfast. I recommend getting a car with high clearance because the 0.95 mile on Tobacco Rd is pretty bumpy (I thought of it as our off-roading experience). What I always looked forward to was the breakfast that Svetlana made. You can tell the all the love and care that she puts into her breakfast. Their breakfast were all organic, eggs straight from their happy chickens, and delicious fruits straight from their beautiful farm. There was nothing that I didn’t like! It was great that Lee sits down with you to give you tips on places to visit.
My husband and I stayed in the Kohola Room (Whale room). The room itself is better in person and it’s just breathtaking with the view of the ocean and the sky. The bed was comfy and the room had everything we needed. In the communal space, they even have filtered water and kitchen appliances. The B&B also had boogie boards, snorkeling gear, etc to take on outdoor excursions.
Overall, thank you Svetlana and Lee for the wonderful stay. Until we meet again! A Hui Hou~

Lee & Svetlana were great hosts. They provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and outings. Their place is beautiful, comfortable and central to what we were interested in. The breakfasts were incredible! We really appreciated the beach gear, snorkel equipment, etc. Everything to make our stay and outings easy was provided. They’ve thought of everything. The road getting up to their place is a bit tricky but manageable and worth it. We recommend a stay at this lovely bed and breakfast on the beautiful organic farm with the happiest chickens on earth.

This is a very special place to visit. Because it is off the beaten track, you will be amazed at the breakfast, the view, and the grounds. As this is a working farm, you are eating food grown on the property. Bananas, tomatoes, oranges, mango, eggs. The view of the ocean is from 1400 feet up. Sweeping views are stunning. Your hosts are 20 year professionals. Visit their website for details. We are coming back.
