So this review is for their excellent beans. I live in CT and we have an excellent local roaster who uses these beans (shout out to Redding Roasters!). Whilst they maybe quite pricy they are delicious and always on my shopping list each time I visit.

I've never been to the farm, but I did buy a few bags of their coffee. This review is for their coffee. I would rate their coffee in my top five of 100% Kona Coffees. For reference, I have tried about 40 Kona Coffees, so to make the top five, in my mind, puts this in the upper echelon of Kona Coffees. I bought whole bean, medium roast coffee. The beans were evenly roasted and I did not find any "defects"-extremely small or chipped bean parts in the bag. I used the pour-over method and found the aroma to be excellent. My office was full of a wonderful coffee smell. The flavor was a bit more earthy than many Kona Coffees, which I liked. A tip for coffee lovers: buy single-estate 100% Kona Coffee and you'll discover some of the nuances of Kona Coffee that you won't find in a blended coffee. It did have all the important characteristics I associate with Kona Coffee: a smooth taste with low acidity.

I haven't bought any other coffee since our Big Island trip in 2018. I bought a pound each at several farms, mailed them home, and taste-tested them over several weeks. Lions Gate was equal to the best taste and was much more competitive in price. I drink a pot a day (cost: about $1.50) and love knowing that I'm going to love every cup!

Bought mac nuts and coffee there in 2007, and still order them from afar.

First off, this business is not closed as Yelp indicates. It is however both a coffee farm and private residence by appointment only. You cannot just show up. I have been to the farm twice and it is magnificent. This is 100% kona coffee, grown, harvested, dried and roasted by hand. The best coffee in the world IMHO. I have been buying coffee direct from Lions Gate for over 10 years -- have it shipped to my house (whole bean , medium roast) on a monthly subscription. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Definitively a place you need to stop! We were welcomed by a wonderful women with a big heart that explain us everything about her farm and made us taste different things. We walked on the land to see different plantations : coffee, macadamia nuts, avocados, pineapples, oranges, guava, passion fruits, mangos and more, wow!
Thank you for the hospitality!

Travel down a street with their farm/house at the end. When we pulled up, didn't realize it was the place. The people were very friendly though and had different options to buy and sample. Great for a quick stop but not much in the way of a tour.

My favorite Kona coffee. Friendly, and a great experience. Don't make the mistake and turn around if intimidated by "just someone's house". If you want a large scale operation then go to Greenwell, if you want quality, unique, and the best coffee in Hawaii then go to Lions Gate. Oh yeah......their own farm grown macadamia nuts are to die for.

Small coffee and fruit plantation/ farm roasts their own Great coffee, also the chocolate covered espresso beans are amazing. Plus super nice, and sweet older gal, and her husband whom I didn't meet, owns/runs the place...

Wonderful people, wonderful products. Their macadamia nuts taste better than the one's from store. This is someone's home. The host is a very nice lady, she welcomed us in and told us little about their farm. She had few products for us to sample and buy. They also have online store that I'm using with reasonable shipping price.

Extremely nice owners- we stuck around to chat about their backgrounds and what they enjoy doing around the island. Delicious macadamia nuts, too! We took a stroll around their coffee and fruit trees, ended up buying some Lilikoi butter as well. Definitely would recommend stopping by (or ordering online)
