“A cute little outdoor market with stalls selling many products. Go hungry, because you'd be a fool to miss Shocka Tacoz. Rated the best on Hawaii, I went back 2 more times it's so good. I had the Ono burrito, which was very ono (that means good in Hawaiian) the papaya salsa was a hit with 7 of 8 people in our group.”
“Good restaurants, KTA grocery, Longs Drugs, Alii Health Center, Regal Movie Theater, good tourist bar/restaurant with daily Happy Hours from 2-5 pm (Tropics).

“Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, there is no more free parking at Kailua, any more, city officials are driving tourists away and small businesses are closing down due to a lack of customers.”
“Coconut Grove is a hot spot that offers something for everyone. Multiple places to eat and drink. Ocean's Sports Bar is fun local spot that hosts live music or karaoke. The bar tenders here know how to pour a mixed drink that will definitely contribute to a night of entertainment out with your friend. I highly doubt you'll find a location on Ali'i drive that provides drinks as affordable as Ocean's does.
I'd say other featured locations here include •Laverne's (Drinks & food).
•Gypsy Gellato (locally sourced ingredients for incredible gellato. I highly recommend Pele's kiss, my favorite flavor anyway).
•Black Rock Pizza.
•Kona Running Company for all you runners.
•Kava Kava (Kava bar with a couple of different options for Kava) If you haven't had Kava (non alcoholic beverage & don't have to be 21) I'm telling you order a shell of it, meet a few local and enjoy the experience. I'd say to order thos beverage at the end of your day, get it to go, sit back at the volleyball pit and enjoy some of the Kona nightlife. Kava will certainly help you relax and sleep well. Just do it.
•Foster's Kitchen. Our favorite spot in Kona for dinner. Highest quality food you'll find on Ali'i drive, while it's not cheap, it's not overly experience but worth every penny. They are the ONLY location that serves the drink called a Pahoa...my absolute favorite adult beverage in all of Hawaii and A MUST DO.
•If you're a diver, Jake's Diving Locker has everything you'll need and for tourists with GoPro needs, this is your source for GoPro's and ALL accessories.”

“The staff at ABC Store is warm, friendly, and welcoming. It was close to the time the store was closing and they didn't mind at all us being there and shopping still. They were happy to help us with a smile. An item must've been missed during the bagging of our stuff at checkout. We didn't realize until we returned home from our trip which wasn't in Hawaii. I called and let them know what happened. Mona was extremely helpful in assisting me. She said she would be happy to mail me the pair of earrings that got misplaced. I gave her my info, and she texted me on Monday when she was sending it out to share the tracking info. When the mail arrived, I realized she had surprised us with a box of chocolates along with the earrings. That was so sweet and kind. I texted her and thanked her. The level of service and appreciation of our patronage is unmatched. Shopping here is a true pleasure.”
“Awesome little marketplace and easily accessible. My favorite here is the Kona fat bikes shop! Good fun renting bikes and exploring the island! (No waiting in traffic!! && No worry about pay for parking!!) Or taking a tour with one of the local guides they are so kind and fun! Highly recommend!”
“We had a scrumptious dinner at Thai Rin at 75-5799 Ali'i Drive #C1. Our friend swears by his order on repeat, the pineapple fried rice and added prawns. I had Tom Yum Rice Noodle Soup, with fall off the bone pork in an elegant spicy broth which, BTW was enough to take home for another two meals. And we were treated to this Kupaianaha (extraordinary) sunset with NCL's Pride of America sailing away.”
