Careful buying snorkel gear here. They have it listed for $11-18 but when I rang it up it was over $30. When I discovered it, the cashier got mad at me for not just buying it.

$$$. Groceries on the island are usually pricey, at least compared to the mainland. This is especially true at Big Save Market. You can easily save about 30% by driving the extra miles to Safeway in Lihue.

I was looking for some souvenirs for my young grandkids but everything I found was lame and extremely expensive. I went to Big Save in Eleele and found some awesome Hawaii wood puzzles and Hawaii hard books at very reasonable prices! A fraction of what I saw similar books for at other stores. Well worth the drive!!!

Good for essentials but not a very big store nor a huge selection. The poke bar usually has some high quality poke for supermarket prices
