Mom and pop bodega. Everything you need. Always friendly. Would give five stars but one time they charged my card $750 on accident and I wasn't able to get it back.

Last year, I had bought a 1.5L bottle of Diet Coke while gathering some omiyage (gifts) for a friend going to the mainland back in November, just before Thanksgiving. My friend was also out getting her last minute items and since I was a bit early getting to their home, I parked my car to wait for them. Usually I buy a 20oz soda if I want a soda "kick". But this evening, Longs didn't have diet 20oz by the check-out so I went to the back of the store and realized that 20oz was $1.99 but the 1.5L was $2.19!! What a bargain!! Plus I was happy knowing I wouldn't drink it all while waiting for my friend's arrival. I parked in a guest stall, rocking out to my Oldie's station...volume turned down a bit as it was after 10pm and while I didn't think people in their units could hear my stereo-I wanted to be Pono-not to humbug any neighbors. My 1.5L Diet was waiting for me to take a sip so I opened it up and it was super chilled...I was so happy and made a mental note to always look for this size- for just few cents more, I won't have to nurse this! I took another huge swig and started to put the cap back on while putting my soda in the built in holder just below the dashboard and in front of the gear shift..and I got startled by someone suddenly tapping rather loudly and rapidly on the front passenger side window.. I dropped my 1.5L of Diet Coke and the cap fell to the floor while the bottle neck faced down into my car's molded cup holders.I frantically to turn the bottle upright as-the holder was filling very fast!!! The double cup holder was full to the brim with Diet Coke! Nothing spilled on the floor. The person who startled me was "my friend", and we stared at the-mess she caused. She asked me if I carried a wet vac in my car. Nope was the answer. I asked if she had a straw? We laughed- what she had was a few extra napkins from a recent drive thru visit. I put them on the top of the liquid- hoping nothing spills on the floor carpet as I started to drive home. Saw a vacuum at this Foodland Gas station on Ft Weaver Road! So happy to see it and hoping it was a functioning vacuum...when I saw I needed $2 in quarters...my spirits sunk...I had just emptied all of my loose change out of my wallet that afternoon!! At the gas station booth, I saw a lite on and a car with a young man sitting inside...so I went over to the booth to ask if I could get change for $2.00. The young man was waiting for his Mom, I think (hope I'm recalling her name correctly) her name is Arlene... so her handsome son stuck his head in the door to ask if she could bring out $2.00 in quarters for me and he smiled at me, letting me know she was bringing my quarters out as soon as she balanced her till. When Arlene locked up her booth, she turned and smiled at me. I held out the $2.00 to her, thanking her for helping me avoid a total fiasco as for sure all that soda would have sloshed out of the built in cup holders by the time I got to Mililani! Still smiling, she deposited the quarters into my hand but refused to take my 2 $1.00 bills. She wished me a Happy Thanksgiving and they both waved good-bye while I successfully vacuumed all that Diet Coke out of the cup holders. Sorry this took so long for me to finish the message... but I want to give a BIG MAHALO TO ARLENE AND HER HANDSOME SON!!! MAHALO to FOODLAND for employing such a kind and compassionate lady!

Aloha gas station in Ewa is one of few gas stations that sell gas with no ethanol. We use gas with no ethanol for our power tools and was surprised to find this treasure right in Ewa. This gas station is usually not busy so it's a quick in and out. Great if you are in a hurry. The only thing is you need to read the pumps carefully because the non-ethanol sign is hard to spot and there is only one pump available. I am glad that you can still find non-ethanol gas in Hawaii. This was like finding an Easter egg.

The only gas station in Ewa Beach that has a pump well two that are non ethanol. Supposively this will assist the performance function of your vehicle and burns efficiently. Is it cheaper? When was gas cheaper at all. Unfortunately no but after my husband and I tested it out to the one at Safeway we determined it last longer by almost an extra 5 miles added to the normal per mile your car/truck takes. If you are an Foodland Maikai card holder and pay cash or debit card see the attendant since a couple cents does go a long way when you pay for fuel. The hours of operation I am unsure but I did swing by at around midnight Friday and though there was no attendants the gas station did take card. So why a review on a gas station why not. Cause here is my only negative. Unlike the Eastlake Safeway there is no real organization on how you pull into the small gas station pump so everyone is either coming one way or another. Which it can be irritating. Besides that everything else is good. I usually use my card so I do not really deal with the attendant but last time I did they were decent.
