Bank deserves 0 stars. I wouldn't use them. They shut your account down if it's inactive for 30 days and then when you try to reactivate it they say you gotta wait 6 months. Not a customer friendly bank.

Wish I would have listened to reviews and not worked with this bank. We did a heloc and the whole process was a mess from start to finish. We were pestered about different documents and constantly rushed. Told the wrong information and ultimately very unhappy with my choice and their communication. I'll be biding my time until I can switch banks.

Not enough tellers. Stand in line too long . Two windows open and when a business customer comes in they take away one teller and it seems many customers take too much time or have complicated issues with their account. I too only use the bank for certain transactions. The old branch had five windows and a sixth business window. I am tempted to change banks after thirty years but my wife won’t change.

If i could give this place ZERO stars, i would. Tellers are ridiculousy RUDE! My other half came in nicely to ask if he could cash a check even if the check is from a different bank, wasn't sure...and the teller RUDELY said "well look does it say first hawaiian" blah blah blah trying to embarrass my other half. First off you could have been nice and said politely "no we cannot" or something but no instead you tell him go somewhere else like walmart. WTF like seriously get off your high horse, if you hate your job so much go work somewhere else. How dare you think you are better than other people, you ain't no one special you just like everybody else. Sad to see how they treat customers. You are in the customer service industry i think its time you chose another "career" if all you're going to be is RUDE af! Ridiculous...

Overall 1-1/2 stars, for good reasons. Bad customer service from the tellers, 75% of them are just rude. Calling wait time is always 30 minutes plus. No 24 hours customer service. On the weekends, contacting customer service is closed. Their website and mobile app is lackluster. They don't value that you bank with them. When late on payments, they hound you and they are very unprofessional. First Hawaiian Bank needs give new and improved form, structure, focusing more on better customer service. Without the customers, FHB employees wouldn't have jobs. Think about it.

Girlie was wonderful to work with my banking needs. She always has a smile and is courteous to me with every visit. Girlie is fast and efficient. I wish their banking computer systems learn to keep up with her speed! Mahalo Girlie, I appreciate all that you do!

Terribly slow. Just two tellers stations and 6 staff. They are very nice and all, but there should be a better way to get in and out. Always a line out the door. Just slow.

Very convenient to my location nearby from home just a walking distance ... parking is great a lot of it, if there's a line inside or outside it means they're not busy its the clerks are slow. I don't know if the clerk's wanna show the customers that they're high-class Filipinos but they have a 2 clerk window so they have to pick it up customers has other places and errands to go on their day off or maybe on lunch break to come to the bank... if you see a line clerks are slow!!!

Today was my first visit to the Ewa Beach location, and I could not believe that there were only two teller windows. I was the 7th person in line and it was a long wait, partly due to a teller-in-training that was working at one of the windows. There were two other employees but they were assisting customers that needed service such as opening a new account, notary, etc. They eventually were able to assist but one was limited to deposits with no withdrawals only. The service was fine, but that does not make up for the poorly designed layout of having only two teller windows at a bank that is not only the "top rated" but the "largest in Hawai'i". I am not able to understand how having two teller windows at a branch located in a community with 13,000 - 15,000 people can provide efficient service during peak hours. Albeit, not all of them bank here, there has to be a majority (guessing at least 50%) that do. If you need to make a deposit or withdrawal and this location is the most convenient for you, you're better off using the ATM machine. If you prefer in-person interaction, go to another branch that has more than two teller windows like Kapolei or Waipahu. Otherwise, make sure you bring patience and have the time to wait.

Service extremely slow, there is no line or accommodation for business and quite frustrating to be honest. When inquiring about the long waits, excuses of running short staff, which doesn't help the consumer standing in line. An hour run to the bank for deposits is wasted time. The place is attractive and clean, but what a waste of space, little banks in stores operate faster than this bank.

I'm not sure which branch as it was a long while ago... I went in to cash a large amount of US savings bonds. In Chicago it was as good if not better than cash for me. The teller went to get a supervisor. The supervisor told me she was going to hold my pants for six months. I replied, give them back to me to think of the road. I know we'll catch them. She asked me to wait. She comes back about a half hour later telling me that she calls me because she thought they were Counterfeit.

Marion Mapu should be fired.... Stood in line for 30 minute for her to not want to put up my fathers account up to help him. All we wanted to do was set up an automatic transfer and she said go online. She gave bad attitude like we were wasting her time. First hawaiian bank she makes your company look so TERRIBLE.
