Old school treatment with short wait times and people who care. I have great care and referrals from this office.

0/10 would not recommend. Money grab. They don't care about patients, they just want to see you as many times as possible to get as much money as possible. Every single specialist referral requires an additional appointment.
I'm 5 months pregnant. They referred me to an obgyn who I saw multiple times but then they wouldn't refer me to a new OB who I liked better until they had an appointment with me. They just want money.

I left Kaiser at the end of last year because I also have a home in Arizona where I spend a lot of time, and KP does not work in that state. My new insurance assigned me to a PCP who wasn't accepting new patients, so I was on my own to find a replacement by myself. I called several offices and was told repeatedly that they were not accepting new patients. I finally found Venture Medical 21 and made an appointment. I live in Aiea and Ewa Beach is farther than I wanted to travel to see my PCP, but I thought I would give it a try. I found Macrina Vicerra-Jaena to be competent and thorough. She refers me to any specialist I need and keeps track of my health. I find her medical knowledge to be extensive, she's very easy to communicate with, and I have never had to wait in her office any longer than is typical for any doctor. My only complaint is her difficult, hyphenated name. But every time I struggle with it when trying to tell another doctor or pharmacy who my PCP is, they all seem to know her and know exactly who I'm talking about! I like "Rina" and have confidence in her expertise and extensive experience. I also like her staff, who are always courteous and efficient. I highly recommend Venture Medical 21.

I had an appointment today (July 28, 2021) at 3pm. I arrived 10 minutes early to check in. I was pulled back around 3 and the MA took my vitals and my history as this was an establish care appointment. She left the room around 3:10pm. No one came in after the point to inform me when a provider would be in. At 4pm I walked out of the room and went to the front desk and asked about how much longer it would be. I didn’t mind waiting I just wanted to know about how much longer. The provider was the one who answered me and rudely stated that they had a sick patient in the office. I stated that was fine and I asked again about how much longer it would be. Again in a very rude tone I was told that they had a sick patient. I then asked if I could reschedule then since it had been an hour since my appointment time and no one had come into the room. The front desk did reschedule me but I noticed that the very sick patient they had was sitting in the waiting room. This man was brought back to a room before I was and was then brought back out the waiting room. If he was sick why would the provider make him sit in the waiting room after being seen? Mind you there were no other patients in the office as all of the patient room doors were open. I have never seen such poor care before. They did not take care of me and was making a very sick patient stay in the waiting room instead of in a patient room where he could be comfortable.

It feels different from the offices I’ve been accustomed to on the mainland, but they get you in and out with no problem. Doc is pretty cool. Staff seems laid back. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I’ve had 2 instances where they didn’t call in all of my prescriptions to the pharmacy. Other than that, I love the place.

Been going to this doctors office since before it became Venture Medical 21. Its better now in that you dont have to wait as long and the office got a facelift. Macrina is an LNP and shes the best in my opinion I try to go to her if I can.

On my last two visits, which were for perscription refills, I had the same poor experience. The doctor came in and asked repeatedly why I needed the medication and what it was for. I explained that Prilosec is for heartburn (which maybe doctors are unaware of??). He never asked any additional questions, never took any vitals, or probed into my acid indigestion. He then handed me a religious pamphlet and asked me to read it before I left. It's important to note that they only accept cash or check. Paying with a health spending account or health savings account will be difficult. The attitude of the staff can be best described as indifferent. They definitely don't leave the impression that they're in this job to help others. Expect a long wait in the lobby while you stare at their "We have the right to refuse service" sign.

This place fit me in last minute for a bad sinus infection. They were professional and fast knowing I was trying to make a flight. The doc is real old school, and knows his stuff.
