Ash Is the best coach instructor ever! I had an awesome surfing at Haleiwa with him. He knows the ocean really well and seems to enjoy coaching, he is not just giving a class, he want's you to have a great time. Also he gives excellent feedback to after each wave you surf. Thanks a lot for and awesome surfing time in Hawaii!!

Ash is awesome, we went out for a semi-private beginner lesson as a couple. Super good vibes and great coaching. He even came up to the beach where we were staying for the lesson, brought all the gear and made it really easy. Would definitely book again!

Surfing with Ash was the highlight of my two week trip in Hawaii! Ash goes beyond teaching the mechanics of surfing, and helped me feel connected to the ocean around me and all the surfers sharing the waves. Although I had tried surfing a few times before, this lessons felt like the true beginning of my surf journey with the skills and surfing ethics I learned from Ash. 10/10!!

Best lesson I’ve ever taken! Really vibes with Ash’s philosophy on surfing, the ocean and just life in general. He gives great advice on changing my habits and I’ve seen improvement in my efficiency immediately! You can’t go wrong with a lesson with them

My 1 on 1 session with Ash was truly transformational!Ash taught me the true spirit of surfing, technic, surfing safety and edicate...he was kind, patient and encouraging and instilled in me the confidence I needed my to catch waves on my own. Its true, surfing truly does makes you a better person! May we surf again soon brother!

One of the highlights of my trip to the North Shore was a private lesson with Ash! I learned so much about not only surfing and technique, but also just being grateful to be out in the ocean. I got so much insightful knowledge that I’ll take with me on my future surf sessions; I left the experience much more confident and excited to get back out there :) Thank you Ash!!

The best of the best! One of the greatest things i’ve done in Hawaii. Ash is a great instructor, he encouraged us so much and he has an amazing vibe. We caught some waves from the first lesson! Thank you so much!

Amazing experience!!! Ash provides accurate, intuitive and timely instructions that you can put into action and see the results from right away. I feel like I started surfing better just after a couple sessions with Ash. He will make sure you catch a ton of waves, and fall in love with surfing.

An incredible experience you won't regret if you're looking to build your surf skills and catch some great waves! I booked my 1-on-1 surf lesson the morning of the session and appreciated the website's ease of use and that I received excellent communication on where I should go to meet the instructor, Ash.Ash was an amazing, knowledgeable, and compassionate instructor who I can't recommend enough. I'd surfed a couple of times before but never received formal training. Ash approached the lesson with patience and grace, customizing it to improve on the areas I wanted and was unsure of, such as body placement, strokes, reading the waves, surf reports, and surfing courtesy rules (a wealth of knowledge in just two hours)!The location was also beautiful; we had a sea turtle come up and greet us as soon as we launched out.I don't typically write this long of a review, but Ash and the Hawaii Waves Surf School deserves it - a lesson here will be an experience you won't forget and will better your approach to the waves.

Ash and Josh were excellent instructors. My wife and I had a really fun time! They both really know what they are talking about and give you pointers to help you catch your first wave standing up. If you’re looking for surf lessons on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii Waves Surf School is the place you need to go to.

Ash was honestly incredible. My one on one surf session with him was the highlight of my visit. He imparted knowledge, confidence, and a much needed zen experience. I feel like he helped me reach my own personal goals out there on the waves and allowed me to expand my purview on the sport. I feel very reinvigorated and excited to continue getting back on the board. Thank you so much Ash for being apart of my journey

I cannot recommend a private lesson with Ash enough. He is an incredible surf instructor and what I would call more of a guru than anything. He was able to accommodate my schedule last minute and in less than ideal surf conditions. Most importantly was the way he coached. Ash could tell where my mental and physical state was immediately. He knew how to get through to me to relax, get in the right mindset for surfing, undo some poor habits I picked up from a previous lesson, and was able to get me to pause, reflect, and progress between every wave, helping me improve exponentially. I went from not really being able to surf to catching waves on my own within a single day. His perspective on life was well integrated into the lesson and allowed me to relax and enjoy Hawaii so much better on my last day there. Thanks Ash!!

I had the best surfing lesson with Ash!I’m a beginner, and took 1 on 1 lesson with Ash - his passion for surfing and living the moment was infectious, and I finish the lesson a better surfer and a better human.He gave me confidence on top of new ways to look at the ocean - observing and understanding the wave’s behaviour, which I never thought about before.By the end of the lesson I was able to see which waves should I take, and surf on them - all by myself!Amazing place to learn, don’t forget to ask for Ash!

Ash was an excellent instructor. He was detailed, communicated clearly, and patient as I progressed. His professionalism and positive attitude made the experience of learning the fundamentals of surfing fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend him and will look to work with him again.
