Pūpūkea Beach Park is a great place for snorkeling, with sea turtles, coral, and schools of fish in shallow water, ideal for new snorkelers. It is very shallow but can have strong waves, especially in winter when they are huge. A lifeguard is present and attentive near the outdoor showers. The beach has a great tide pool, adequate parking, and is dog friendly. Visitors highly recommend bringing snorkel gear, water shoes, a lunch, and hanging out for an afternoon to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
