Beautiful grounds to walk around, bring some comfy shoes, and a swim suit. Mostly paved areas but some small trails to “hike” around. Ends at a pretty waterfall where you can jump in and swim around, they had a small changing area too. Bring a couple dollars to tip the lifeguards/life vest rental place. I didn’t and didn’t know…

WHAT A TREAT. You need to do this Wonderful trail and explore all the little off trails. Do the waterfall plunge at the end. It's cold but awesome experience with my family. Even my 4 year boy enjoyed the waterfall swimming pond a t the end of the trail.

Starting with the luau last night I had such an amazing experience. The learning aspect to the entire evening, the O’hana vibe, the kindness of the hosts and the guests. I kept telling my friends I was ambivalent about going to a luau but I can’t thank them enough for insisting on one and for finding this incredibly authentic and entertaining evening. The dances from different cultures, learning that different. Cultures use their hands to tell a story and others their hips. The drummers that accompanied the dancers and the fire dances were amazing. The MC was entertaining and sweet. Then being able to go back today and enjoy the botanical gardens and waterfall, simply amazing. Thank you so so much.

We came here for a luau but also walked to the waterfall. You can swim there if you so desire. The plants are gorgeous and labeled so you know what you're looking at. The gift shop is nice and had some great items. The luau was spectacular. The highlight of my trip. The food was outstanding, the people made me feel welcome. The experience was top notch from start to finish. I can't recommend it enough.

If you want to see a natural waterfall, we recommend purchasing a ticket and heading deeper. If you want to go to the restroom or take a break, you can go to the shop for free.Docomo and au both have one radio wave. There is free Wi-Fi, so it's easy to connect. There are peacocks walking around, so it's enough to take a short break.

Beautiful easy uphill walk through gardens and forested areas to reach waimea falls. Enjoy history, gardens, and some ice cream on your way up! Bring a suit so you can jump into the pool at the base of the falls! They also have a shuttle that will take you up and down if needed!

What a magical place. Truly mystical rainforest feel with lots of variety of plants, trees, and flowers. And of course the main attraction, the waterfall is worth the 0.75 mile hike. You can also swim in the lagoon under the falls so bring your bathing suit.

Waimea Valley was definitely in my plans for my 1st visit to the North Shore. Fam & friends suggested to come here & I'm so glad we did. It was Beautiful!! So much to see, that you should give yourself a couple hours here. I had booked Reservations in advance for Toa Luau & knew that entrance to Waimea Valley is included. Just need to show your reservation confirmation at the entrance. Your Waimea Valley access pass is good for 7 days the week of your luau. Just know that Waimea Botanical Garden and Falls is open on Mondays all year Except for 4 months (Jan, Feb, Oct & Nov).We went in September & it was perfect. It seemed crowded in the morning through lunchtime. Glad we came after lunch. It was a tad warm, but got cooler in the afternoon. It's about a 30 min hike on a paved road. It was pretty easy, just lots of walking. Wear comfortable shoes or comfortable slippas. When you reach the waterfall, you can sit back & relax or go in the water. They provide free life vests, if you plan to go in. Also, having swim shoes would help since walking into the water is rocky. Tips: - Parking was free when I went - Take a hat, sun screen & bug spray - Wear comfortable shoes/slippas for walking - Check to see if there's any closures before arriving - If you plan to swim, wear or bring your swim attire as well as a change in clothes.- Bring water & don't forget to hydrate. They have a couple of water filling stations. - There's a small shuttle for a fee if you can't make the hike up or down

I recently had a very frustrating experience at Waimea Valley. Despite multiple indications that the park was open, including their own signage on the property, we were turned away at the entrance. The staff member at the front was insistent that the park was closed, despite only mild rain conditions and no clear communication about this closure beforehand. This inconsistency was not only confusing but also a significant inconvenience, as we had planned our day around this visit. It's disappointing to see such a lack of coordination and communication from a well-known attraction. It's essential for places like Waimea Valley to provide accurate and timely information to their visitors, especially when it involves changes in their operating hours.Unfortunately, this experience has left a sour taste, and I would be hesitant to recommend this attraction to others until they improve their communication with guests.
