Amazing place, very down home experience. Very laid back, felt like your eating at home. Great people and great service. Amazing food. Definitely recommend it.

The food is GOOD. I ordered the beef stew, cabbage and pork and steak and eggs. Everything was very flavorful and big portions. 10/10. Waitstaff was also very friendly and the restaurant looks like a true local spot.

Happened upon this place while taking a drive and we are so glad we did. Had a wonderful local breakfast. Everything was so good and the staff was so incredibly nice, definitely give it a try!

The food was undercooked and even after it was returned to the kitchen to cook longer it didn't taste good because they use american cheese in the omelette. The coffee was weak.

Great service, hole in the wall comfort food! They make the perfect overeasy imo! The loco moco is also great! Not salty like a lot of other places, and I wonder if they use poi in the gravy coz it kinda look like it!

I have no idea how this place has its reputation or rating.Went in with a good sized party, and across the board everyone's meal was less than stellar.I got the loco moco. The rice was a gooey mess, the gravy was thin and separating and the burger patty had a weird fish taste to it.My wife's kalua moco wasn't much better.Another person in our group ordered an omelet which came out ridiculously undercooked.Maybe we ordered the wrong items, because there seemed to be a mostly full dining room of locals. Our experience simply wasn't good.

Absolutely stay away, worst service I have experienced in my entire life. Wouldnt come back if this was the last food source on the entire island because I'm not confident that the food would even come out of the kitchen in time to stop me from starving to death.

When you pull up, it was probably the most unassuming place we ate at all week, but Unko's serves island comfort food at its best. With a mom-and-pop style, portions, service, and ambiance, it's a place I'll return to, for sure. I had to try the Kalua Moco, a pork twist on the staple Loco Moco (beef patties.) It did not disappoint. The over-easy eggs were perfect, on top of a mountain of Kalua Pork (and rice,) drowning is a sea of brown gravy. I was feeling it and had a sweet tooth craving for some French Toast, and I'm glad I did. It made for an ideal side dish. Again, perfect, not soggy or dry, French Toast. Can I do it again next time? If you're hungry, give it a shot yourself.

I finally made it to Unko's Kitchen. Went on a Friday night. What a beautiful, loving, homie, easy going, family, community vibe. The food was excellent. Ordered the Kalua Pork Moco and Teriyaki Cheeseburger with Macaroni Salad. They were both very enjoyable. Next time, I might get the Kalua Pork with the gravy on the side. Thank you for the great food and allowing us to feel the Kauai Aloha spirit.

Old style, local restaurant serving local dishes. No A/C. So-so coffee on the lighter side even though it is $5 for the cap with free refills. Breakfast nothing out of the ordinary. For better tasting breakfast and coffee, I would go to the Kalaheo Cafe.

My wife and I stopped by Unko's for lunch after hiking in Waimea canyon. We each had a bowl of saimin and shared an order of pork adobo fried rice. The food and service we're excellent! The saimin was pipping hot and flavorful. The fried rice truly tasted like pork adobe with a little vinegar and some peppercorns. Our server Gina was very attentive, making sure our water glasses were filled and checking in on us to make sure everything was ok. The portions were generous and pricing was reasonable. We're looking forward to our next meal at Unko's!!

Came in late (3AM to us Floridians anyway), right before closing, starving and exhausted. Ordered the 3 meat combo. Got destroyed and it was so good we stopped being tired. It's a simple place, local feel. Food is the star here. Had plenty leftover for the next morning, set us up right for the hiking the next day. I can't wait to go back.

We stopped at Unko's for a late breakfast before heading up to Waimea canyon. Food was excellent, service was friendly and quick and the atmosphere was like walking in to a place where only locals eat. I would highly recommend as they have all traditional breakfast items and the pancakes are delicious.
