As someone who hands out bad reviews left and right, I have to say this place is absolutely awesome! They are always helpful, always kind, and they’ve even gotten me out of situations before. A great place to have storage and a great place to get trucks from. Very reliable. I appreciate them being on the island.

I managed to obtain a storage spot for my car at Affordable Self Storage. I requested a year lease and received one month of storage free. Juan and Candy were incredibly helpful and the process was only minutes long in setting things up. Juan recommended a taxi driver that worked out very well. Taxi cost to Hilo Airport on the meter was $11 but paid $20-so your call.

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience at affordable self storage. In the midst of a crisis where I had very little time to make some really important moves in order to accomplish a decision I made to change my life in order to save it . Affordable self-storage manager Juan Silk was rude and began bullying me from the moment I unloaded my belongings onto the property. With false accusation he made up an excuse to have me evicted, then when I was unable to remove all my stuff by his deadline he gave me another day and then went back on his word when I came to load up the rest of my belongings. After rationally discussing and trying to come to a resolution , he basically told me he wasn’t gonna allow me to take my 3 br household or refund my mo at simply because I had bad luck and spoke to him rudely after he notified me of my eviction.I never expected a business to be so unkind and mean, and power tripping me in the vulnerable state that I was, trying to overcome my life’s struggle and marriage. And to take advantage of me when I was already struggling in life made it all more depressing for me. Like I have nothing left in this world .Me silk refused to give me the contact number of the owner rig this business and I was curves to call police over to assist me.I’d advise against anyone taking any valuable and sentimental belongings over for storage at this place. They are con men pretending to be a reputable business who make up lies about people and pull power trips in order to steal peoples property. DO NOT RENT FROM AFFORDABLE SELF-STORAGE!
