“I don't think I could say enough good things about this place. Shane is incredibly talented. His artwork is simply amazing with lots of hidden gems. We visit every time we go to Hilo and pick up another piece of artwork. Shane himself is infectious with his lively and love of life attitude. He loves what he does, and it shows. You won't be unhappy if you go, if you are - it's you. ?”

“the Selection of Art is great. bought a print and had it shipped, no tax if shipped and free shipping so i did not have to worry about it. the owner was very informative and pleasant.. nice place to browse and buy great art.”
“Once in Hilo is a moderately upscale boutique with hand-made silk blouses, art crafts like koa wood pepper mills and wine stoppers, hand made (hilarious) Filthy Soaps, dish towels, jewelry and huge giant tikis. The tikis are for sale for either 9K or 10K (I forget) but they don't ship them for good reason. If you want those tikis, you gotta show up with your crew and have the help of several men to lift those gorgeous hunks of wood. Tiki carving is becoming a lost art. The lady in the store was super nice and friendly, attentive and gave a lot of history for each item I was interested in but I ended up not buying anything due to being on a budget, otherwise I would have bought that cool steampunk-looking pepper grinder for $125.00, or the amazingly awesome Tidepool Koa Wood Table for $2,650.00.”
“Such gorgeous, organic wood designs! This store is a lovely mix of affordable local arts (jewelry, ceramics, fabric art, etc) and high end furniture designs from one of a kind woods obtained through local arborists. The owner/designer Jonathan is wonderful to chat with; so worth stopping in to wander the display rooms and be amazed in every one.”

“Framing was absolute perfection--exquisite and precise. Laura is so professional, down-to-earth, and her years of experience make a difference, especially with respect to preserving fine art in Hawaiʻi's humidity. Mahalo nui Laura!! So grateful!!”
“The owners are wonderful people with the biggest hearts!! Thank you for everything! Beautiful artwork from over 100 local artists. Definitely a place to check out when visiting Hilo.”
“I want to give Richard Cunningham a five star instead of a one star, since Richard did an excellent job shipping my art back to Arizona a few years before Covid; I decided to call them again for another job and Richard has already retired, Nick answered the phone, he seemed very professional when he handled my work as well; this time I am shipping my college diploma as well as other professional trainings I have undertaken in the past ten years, all framed; he gave me a discount and said he would have it boxed and ready to go in a week; a week has gone by, I didn't hear from Nick so I called, he said somebody has already picked up the shipments. There is no way that anybody else could pick up my shipments because I haven't heard from Nick who my shipping company would be yet: he said he will e-mail all that info, to me. I didn't receive any e-mail from him, so I couldn't have arranged a pick-up to begin with. As of 6/15/22, I have no further information where my college diploma as well as five professional training certificates ended up after Nick took over the packaging I already paid for on 6/6/22. 6/22/22 Update: Another customer took my packages by mistake and brought my packages back to the gallery, so I submitted a FedEx shipment order online; Anna and Liam coordinated with me via e-mail to get my packages to FedEx office in Hilo as soon as possible. The whole thing took longer than usual to work out, but Liam took care of my stuff at FedEx, which I appreciate very much.”
“we were formed that the exhibits change every few weeks. I really liked what I saw during my visit and they will have changed. Guide/driver was excellent as he had been resident since early age and related well to us his senior guests. He saved the tour of Big Island candies for our last stop, which we all appreciated.”

“This is the most beautiful little store in Hilo HI, I fell in love with everything in sight. I bought what I could manage to take with me in my suitcase then promptly ordered more when I got home. Sadly, the post office had other ideas. I had to file a claim for the damaged parcel (international post). The amazing Mishi at Wild HeArtist went above and beyond for me with this claim. I am so grateful for everything that was done on their end to make sure I received my product after all. When I can eventually go back to Hilo, this store will be my first stop for all the things (and I will bring an extra large suitcase next time) - the lotions, scrubs and body sprays are absolutely divine (all hand made natural products and the amazing Hawaiian scents will transport you back in a heartbeat). Everything in this store is magical. Give yourself time to shop and take it all in.”
“Jelena is the owner. 30 year resident of Hilo and a Licensed Realtor. She is super creative artist her self. In fact the day before we met her she was in Kona learning how to weave fish traps. She is a weaver her self. A true artist at heart. As a local native Hawaiian my self (Oahu) I was happy to find a shop supporting local artist and our Hilo community. No made in China stuff here. If you want a tiki bar stuff (btw that theme is not Hawaiian and was invented in California in the 40’s and 50’s) or the Life is. Beach signs go to Target or Pei One but if you want art made by local artist go visit Banyan Gallery. They take electronic payments and ship bigger items. Located right next to Hilo Hawaiian Hotel Grand Naniloa (Double Tree) Hotel. And next to Liliuokalani Park right on Hilo Bay. Walk the park to get your steps in. So if you want true local art by local artist to create beautiful memories of your visit while sitting in your living room back home in the dead of winter - this is the place to bring back a heart warming piece of Aloha!”
“EHCC's Gamelan Sekar Dahana is the only one I know of in the United States that welcomes members of the public to drop in and practice Javanese Gamelan by donation. This is a little known, rare community resource worth noting.
According to their website, the center is open Tuesdays, though Google maps says otherwise.”
“The first time I wandered into this magical land of art the owner Ashely was there to welcome me into her shop. I really loved her energy and the vibe of the gallery, it was such a unique and enjoyable experience. Later on I was invited to come play as my fairy self (Loni Moon Fairy) for their anniversary event and had such an enchanting experience with all the other artists. It's hard not to want to purchase everything in the building as all the artists they host are so whimsical and totally my style.”
