Edith Kanakaole Multi-Purpose Stadium is a huge older open air facility with a rounded roof. It is a multipurpose sporting arena and a good place for any larger event. The stadium has a large circular flat area in the center with bleachers around the periphery and plenty of paved parking. It is used for diverse events like a car exhibition, a college fair, the Merry Monarch programs, an art festival, medical training, and the annual Hilo Orchid Show. That event features unique colorful orchids and various vendors showcasing pottery, ceramics, art, and photo prints.
Layout is very intuitive, not hard to find a seat at all. Beautiful views inside the stadium with the open back facing the bay. Buildings older then god and a rusty but honestly, prolly one of the better stadiums I’ve been in. Parking is also plentiful. 4/5 it’s a great experience.
