“An immersion in native island culture, lifestyle, conservation. A spiritual place where the ancestors are smiling. Authentic crafts, art, card games, great stickers in the back, and loads of books on everything Hawaiian and Polynesian -- tattoos, navigation, surfing, native Hawaiian language, children's books, Hawaiian culture and history.”

“One of my favorite places in Hilo (and the big island so far). This shop has the best art I’ve seen yet. Great metaphysical selection of every flavor: stones, books, scents, journals, stickers. They have a hand drum you can play while you wait for your delicious treat from the Nectar Cafe. Definitely worth a trip or two. This time I was able to watch a local artist paint a new mural outside the shop!”

“We were recommended these chips by a local. The store front is quaint but the range is awesome. I love taro chips, but I particularly love their adobo taro chips, so much umami flavour! The only downside is I think the shop can be a little hard to notice as it's quite unassuming, and the pricing is not cheap, but in my opinion worth it if you have the money!”

“Absolutely darling vintage resale shop with amazing selection and the nicest shop worker/owner. Went in thinking I was in trouble when I saw all the vintage kimono and obi, but the prices were really reasonable and the quality was excellent! Absolutely worth a visit.”

“We came to visit the zoo during our vacation. Our kids loved seeing the animals and really enjoyed the playground. The popup burger vendor outside of the zoo is a must and a great deal (burger, chips and shaved ice for $7.00). It was delicious!”

“A hit for my daughter’s birthday. She wore it to her bday dinner. I was really visiting for my comfy “muumuu”- what some might wear on the beach. I live in them when it’s very warm.
Floral cool thin fabric, loose style. I need more.”

“We went shopping here since we arrived from Kona. Stopped by several of the stores to purchase our souvenirs. There were a lot of different shops and galleries along the way. This place is close to the farmers market and several other restaurants .”

“My daughter is OBSESSED with gift shops such as this one. She was asking me for nesting dolls for such a long time and we were finally able to find some. This shop was the only place that had them. I bought a super cute butterfly costume here. And plan on dressing up my daughter as a chinese doll next Halloween. They have really cool stuff. I found a wind up carosel. Super cute! Next i'll be looking for anything fantasy. Anything fairytail. And i'll be on the look out for a ferris wheel next hopfullly one day i'll be able to find the cuckoo clock i've been wanting. I'm grateful for shops like this. I take my daughter for her rewards for good behavior. She loves looking around. Its her favorite place to go. My daughter loves dolls and toys that are not thebig box store kind. She loves anything that is tiny. Old fashioned type dolls that leave room for her imagination. Trinkets and nostalgic gifts are the best.”
