Both Kevin and Hanna, proprietors of Kevin's Auto & Truck Repair, treat you like family. They keep you current about the repairs necessary to the vehicle, charge reasonable prices and the quality of work is outstanding! After ten years of agony trying various repair shops , including the local Jeep dealership, I believe Kevin's provides a level of service second to none in Hilo.

I would give this company 100 stars if I could. This auto place makes you feel comfortable, explains everything, and even if you're not car-savvy they don't make you feel stupid or take advantage of you. Kevin is a master mechanic that has completed some of the most complicated jobs that even other seasoned mechanics couldn't figure out. I'll never take my cars anywhere else. Mahalo Kev!

I have been a Kevin's Auto customer for years and am very satisfied with the service provided,they'll give you an honest estimate and I do understand at times they'll find other issues and they're very good about checking if additionally work is needed ,even giving a timeline if it can wait. I know they can be trusted to repair what needs to and am confident in their abilities their staff are very professional and friendly and I am very satisfied with their service.

Pretty good shop, a little hard to find, but almost competent work and they will only try to screw you over once every couple years. When they do decide to screw you over, though, they really pull out all the stops. They tried to tell me I needed 1,200 worth of work done on my ABS system, so I took it elsewhere and it only cost about $250, and have not had any problems in the 2 years since.

Took my car to this place to get a diagnostic for my car. They told me that my front rotors were too thick, my brake pads needed to be reconditioned and my tires needed to be rebalanced. Total cost of estimate they gave me was $680. I said okay let's get it fixed. Couple hours later I get a call again saying that my calipers were no good and needed to be changed out too. They priced me for labor and parts at $1200!!!! On top of the 680 I already had to pay. Due to not having the money I just payed them for my rotors. Went to Napa to buy my own calipers it cost me $132 and a friend changed it out for me. While my friend was replacing my calipers he did a full inspection, the car was still doing the the original problem I took it in for. Long story short, come to find out THE ACTUAL PROBLEM I NEEDED TO FIX HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING THEY SAID WAS WRONG WITH IT! IT WAS MY FREAKING WHEEL ALIGMENT THIS WHOLE TIME!!!!! SO NOT ONLY DID I WASTE 680! AND 132 FOR A PART I DIDNT NEED. I STILL HAD TO FIX THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM. Thanks to my friend though, I only got charged like 50 bucks for wheel alignment. And wasn't charged for a second vehicle diagnostic. Don't take your vehicle here. Total rip off!!!!

KEVIN ,YOU DID ALOT OF GOOD WORK ,BRAKES, TRANSMISSION,OIL SERVICE....HOWEVER YOU MISDIAGNOSED THE STARTING ISSUE AND YOU CHARGED MY WIFE AND I APPROXIMATELY 1300.FOR A REPAIR THAT MADE ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE TO OUR PROBLEM...OTHER THEN IN THE TYME OF THE PANDEMIC YOU TOOK 1300.FOR A REPAIR THAT DID NOT NEED TO BE DONE...THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP ETC THAT YOU REPLACED...FOR ME ITS NOT THAT YOU DID THIS ,MISDIAGNOSIS CAN HAPPEN,,,WHAT DISSAPOINTS MY WIFE N I IS THE FACT THAT YOU NEVER LIVED UP TO YOUR MISTAKE,IN FACT YOU NEVER EVEN MENTIONED IT .YOU NEVER TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. THEN AFTER YOU HAVING EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO,YOU DIDNT...INSTEAD YOU CAME TO MY HOME SPENT A FEW MINUTES LOOKING AT THE CAR AND THEN SHOOK MY HAND AS IF ALL WAS WELL...I HAD ALOT OF FAITH IN YOUR BUSSNESS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THERES NO WAY I COULD DO BUSINESS WITH YOU AGAIN...THE ONLY DIFFERENCE THAT REPAIR MADE WAS MOVING 1300. FROM OUR POCKETS TO YOURS WITH NOTHING IN RETURN .IN THE END A NEIGHBOR NAMED DAVID BAKER,DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND HAD IT RUNNING IN LESS THEN 2 HOURS WITHOUT ANY PARTS BEING REPLACED...IT WAS ELECTRICAL.Services: Brakes
