The Super KTA Store in Hilo’s selection of food, especially local cuisine, is nothing short of amazing. Whether you're in the mood for premade, hot and ready-to-go dishes, or you're looking for the basics like fresh produce, cereal, pickles, hot sauce, chocolate candy, or quality fresh meat, this store has you covered. What's particularly outstanding is the freshness of their seafood, and the quality of their eggs and dairy products. Additionally, there's a well-curated selection of liquor for those looking to add a little extra flavor to their shopping list. With ample parking and a welcoming atmosphere, this Super KTA Store truly lives up to its 'Super' name. It's a one-stop shop for everything you need, and it's a local favorite for a good reason. Highly recommended!

Narrow isles ...many shoppers are seniors. Cashiers and clerks helpful and friendly. Variety is limited. Good experience.

Downtown KTA is great! I love the selection and location.Fresh poke options, including ahi and octopus. The marinated tofu and cucumber kimchi are delicious. Plenty of Hawaii coffee, cookies, snacks, and Mac nuts if you're looking for items to bring back.KTA had cold drinks in the front and sells a variety of liquor and beer that you can carry out. They have a big parking lot as well. This is one of the few public restrooms in downtown Hilo.

It's well worn and funky but it is KTA. The prices are modestly better than Sack N Save. I have seen it full of people from the cruise ship which is a head scratcher. No bakery or deli to speak of. The best that downtown had to offer for groceries.

A supermarket in downtown Hilo. Often have big steaks cooked for $1.00. Some things are more expensive than other stores and some things are less. Worth checking out if you plan to do shopping for groceries in Hilo more than once, or you just want to check it off your "Visiting Places in Hawaii" list...Staff is mostly Aloha friendly and some are super Aloha friendly.Nice big bench area up front to sit and eat or drink something you bought for a spell and you can sometimes try to enjoy the live music coming from the bustling restaurant across the street with their often packed outside patio full of tables.

Its the best range of good local produce and asian foods including seafood. Good fresh Poke. Marinated grill ready meats. Then the Bakery! OMG its a great one with fresh Malasadas, Mochi donuts, ensemadas, Manapua etc.. they have chefs from Japan making fresh taiaki and other treats. Then there is the deli- if you are an early riser you can get the fresh made musubi and bento boxes with tempura shrimp, vegies and meats. Oh - some times they make fresh fried Okinawan donuts, on the weekend, weeknights they grill steaks outside and make plates for dinner that are reasonably priced! Its busy in there but worth it for the food! Did I convince you yet? Its a treasured business here in Hilo

KTA must stand for Killed Things Aroma - the predominant smell when I entered this store was not just meat, but rotting meat smell. I decided to look around the store trying to ignore the smell & I was surprised to see items that should've been in refrigeration, like katsu sliders, and other party trays were just sitting on shelf displays. I was like nope - the combo of the bad meat smell and the lack of sanitary practices was enough to turn me away from this local chain the rest of my trip.

Tiny store, crazy parking lot. Meat on the shelves but if you want a certain cut from the back, make sure to get there before 3, meat dept closes at 3.
