Hawaii Kai 24 is a bare bones operating geriatric gym with poor layout and rusted equipment. It hasn’t been updated in years, likely one of the worst gyms on the island given that its location is decent.Nothing bad to say about staff. They’ve always been great and they work with what they can. it’s clear that management doesn’t care enough to make proper updates.Would love to see the management ask its members about updates or new equipment. Maybe a new layout that caters to everyone not just cardio seekers and geriatrics.

They okay the music way too loud. The majority of people are wearing earbuds or headphones, which barely helps because it’s so excessively loud. It’s hard to focus on your work yet with this music BLARING in your ears. It’s ridiculous. The staff isn’t working out, thus they don’t realize how distracting it is on 24 hour members, including seniors. They just don’t care. Yet members are hamstrung because this is the only gym in the area. I wish 24 corporate would have a reasonable volume limit nationwide.

Gym has bad business practices, my friend paid 15$ for a 3 day guest pass, however staff told us the second day we had to pay 15$ again for each day although the email said he had 3 day access. Scam?Edit: gym has little A/C and stuffy too

There’s 0 airflow in the building and a film of dust over a lot of equipment. Can’t workout without being put through a sauna while in the building and sneezing. I’ve brought it up to the front desk several times. The company needs to install fans throughout the building and do a deep clean. Please and thank you ?

Pretty meh.Pros: it’s a gym and has a bit of everything. Ppl seem nice enough. You’re guaranteed to get your sweat on.Cons: Often super crowded. Just 2 squat racks and a tiny space for calisthenics / functional strength. Insanely warm… Is the AC even on? Like I said, at least you’re guaranteed to sweat.

It’s kinda small so be patient if it’s super busy. Parking is also difficult so be willing to walk a little. People are nice though so it’s worth it.

The view is priceless here. I like the spin class and strength training. The frequency of both is good, IMO. The weights are upstairs, and it's not in a very big area, so be advised that you may not have as wide a berth as you desire in between sets. The classes are upstairs too, so when they recommend you show up 10-15 minutes early, there isn't any room to be queue up plus you can't go in and set up anyway because there is usually another class finishing up. In addition, despite reserving a spot with the 24Go app, good luck finding space in their classes. People have been known to shoulder you out of the way like it's Black Friday or something, and there are also floor hogs. But, if you ask nicely, they will shift their gear a bit to give you room even if you get the stink eye . It's all good once class gets rolling.

If you want to hang around a bunch of high school kids with Bass Pro hats and Fight Club t shirts standing around waiting for equipment to open up...this is the perfect gym for you.

Its really junk they're open from 5am-11pm its the few locations not 24 hours business hours. I cant even go to the gym after work anymore thanks a lot for nothing hawaii kai 24. From what i heard its due to not having enough people go to this gym location still a d*** reason to stay 5am-11pm

It may not be COVID outbreak time but there's not one sign near any disinfecting stations (that I saw) asking customers to be courteous and wipe off their machines when finished, as a courtesy to the next customer. I even saw an instructor not wipe their machine after use before going in to class. Some people are good about doing this but many are not. In Minnesota signs are in all the gyms.Oops, there are 2 signs with bullet points that tell customers to wipe down. I changed my rating now. Still suggest signs near disinfecting stations.

Hawaii Kai has no spa or sauna, the dryers don't work and no water bottle filler!
